For Influenza "I was hit suddenly this past Saturday evening with headache, joint pain, chest pain, chills, and a fever of 100. I had a telehealth appointment yesterday (Sunday) and began my Tamiflu around 1 pm (oral). Last night was rough as well, fever close to 102 and meds doing little to knock it down. Chest sore, difficulty coughing, achy, sweaty, and overall miserable. Around midday today (Monday), I began to feel much better, three doses of Tamiflu in. Temp holding steady at 99 and none of the aches and sharp bone pains. My advice: get the Tamiflu early, get in bed and stay there, drink, drink, drink-water, ginger ale, jello, pudding-and spend your time resting. Yes, it works."

For Influenza "My 9-year-old son got sick with the flu (confirmed by swab) on a Thursday afternoon. Before bed, we gave him the Tamiflu. Overnight, he was very sick with a high fever, vomiting, and headache, but the next morning, after his second dose of Tamiflu, he was already starting to feel much better, fever a lot lower, and eating soup. The medicine is easier on the stomach if you eat something with it, otherwise, it can cause stomach/digestion distress. Like others who posted, I was skeptical about using it, especially for a child, but so far, it has worked well."

For Influenza "Tamiflu had given me all the possible side effects. Whenever I took it, I could not eat anything, and if I did, I would throw it up. I had severe headaches, fatigue, and bad breath as a result of taking this medicine twice per day. I would rather have just had the flu instead of taking this awful medicine. Do not recommend."

For Influenza "I was diagnosed with the flu. I was prescribed Tamiflu. The doses on the first day were okay. The first dose on the second day caused me to wish I never took it. It started with a headache, then diarrhea, then nausea, then vomiting, then bloody diarrhea. It started at 9:25 a.m. It's now 5:50 p.m., and no relief in sight! Whomever invented this 'drug' should be made to take it. I feel worse now than when I started having the flu!"

For Influenza "Flu came on quickly on Saturday. Doc's office was closed, and I was sick all day Sunday and called first thing Monday morning, and they got me in for an appointment. Fever was 102 with chills, headache, etc. I got the flu shot several months prior, but it covered the wrong strain, which is the one that hit me. Doc gave me a prescription for Tamiflu, which I started right away. I still stayed home from work Monday and Tuesday but felt better on Wednesday, still a bit sluggish, though. Did this help shorten the duration? Not certain, but I think it definitely did help."

For Influenza "Tamiflu the first day seemed to just make me nauseated and have a headache. Second day, even with food, I was vomiting and had a severe headache. Decide for yourself, I think this medication is not worth the side effects."

For Influenza "I tested positive for Influenza A on Tuesday afternoon. I took my first dose of Tamiflu that night. Had a fever overnight, but then my temp broke by Wednesday morning, so that was the last time I had a fever, and today is now Sunday. My only 2 complaints about the Tamiflu are that it made me incredibly nauseous every time I took it, and I also got bad headaches from it too."

For Influenza "I got diagnosed with severe type A flu, with a fever of 103 and terrible chills, with nonstop nausea and vomiting. The first two doses were great, I lost the chills and my fever went down. However, after the 3rd dose, I started to have intense stomach cramps that were so bad I had to go to the ER. Additionally, I started to have random jerks with my arms and legs when I tried to sleep, I had intense chills, my eyes were dry and bloodshot, and an intense headache. The worst part of the Tamiflu experience is that I was also not able to take my zofran for my vomiting. It reversed the effect of the zofran, so instead of making my nausea go away, it made it many times worse. Anything except for water made my stomach ache to the point of going to the ER, as said earlier. This is the first review I have ever done for anything online, which is a shocker because I am 18. I am doing this to emphasize the total hideous side effects of this drug. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone."

For Influenza "Terrible. I am a senior. I was not prescribed Tamiflu until 3 days of onset. No problem with diarrhea, but... I felt like I had been poisoned. A total of 4 doses, and the balance of the pills will never be taken again. Cough worsened, fever worsened, overall aches and pains increased with each dose. Unable to sleep, and now a pounding headache. Maybe I should not have been prescribed Tamiflu so late into my symptoms. Horrible experience."

For Influenza "The doctor prescribed me Tamiflu, 1 pill twice a day for 5 days. I took Tamiflu for 3 days, and although the flu symptoms got better already by the second day into the treatment, I had horrible side effects from the medication: a very strange headache around the eyes and forehead (it was hard to even open my eyes), nausea, a feeling of heaviness in my legs and arms, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, heart palpitations, and horrible nightmares. On the fourth day, I stopped taking it, and the headache disappeared, but the other symptoms remained, though in a minor scale. I’m on the 6th day and still not fully recovered from the side effects, the feeling of heaviness in my legs and arms still persists. I would not recommend this medication and wish I hadn’t taken it. I have told all my friends to never take it."

For Influenza "Flu came out of nowhere on a Saturday. Chills and headache were the worst but also had cough, earache, body aches. Temp was 102. Spent the weekend in bed, not sure I would survive. Went to the doctor on Monday and tested positive for the flu. Started Tamiflu and a Z-pak. By Tuesday, I was feeling much better. Expensive, but I do not regret the cost because it worked, and I only had to pay the copay. Many years since I had the flu, and it was much worse than I could imagine. Would pay the whole $80 if needed."

For Influenza "62 y.o. female. First time with flu virus in 15 yrs. Went to Medfast & was prescribed Tamiflu. Afraid to take last day dose because of fuzziness in my right eye last night. Still have flu symptoms for 4 days & counting. Other side effects from Tamiflu were: right eye blur, bad headache, dry mouth, hoarseness, muscle spasms, sweating, slight upper abdominal pain, nausea. You can see why I am afraid to take anymore. Don't know if it shortened flu symptoms. This is day 5 & feel a little better but have severe headache & coughing still. So maybe took meds too late but getting fuzzy in my right eye last night scared me enough to stop it."

For Influenza "I began taking Tamiflu at about the 72-hour mark. They say this is borderline that it can help at this stage. I felt so bad (headache, body aches, hot/cold, cough) that the doctor decided to try it. After 2 doses, fever broke, aches are gone, and only slight coughing. Still a little fatigued. Wasn't sure this would work... But I believe it now."

For Influenza "I started taking it on day 2 after the doctor prescribed. Although I gained some strength back, the tremendous headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea were horrible. The worst part was insomnia, I could barely sleep, only slept 2-3 hours at most each time, body still aching."

For Influenza "Last night at 9 p.m., the flu came on. I had a headache, severe aches and pains, a fever that went up to 101.8, ice-cold numb hands and ice-cold toes, nausea, and dizziness. I immediately took a Tamiflu 75 mg. I drank a lot of water and TJs cherry juice throughout the night. I was at least 50% better the next morning at 6. And now, it's 1 p.m., and I don't have a fever, no aches and pains, just a little grogginess/weakness. I think because I took the Tamiflu immediately, it really worked well. I'll definitely keep a box on hand at all times."

For Influenza "Today is day 3 of taking Tamiflu, and they weren't kidding when they said possible side effects. I have dizziness, a splitting headache, and diarrhea. However, my flu symptoms have lessened in the first 24 hours. I went to urgent care with a temp of 102+ with nausea, cough, body misery, and earache. I was given an RX for Tamiflu, the pharmacist said to take my first dose right away (it was 6 PM), then the next dose at bedtime. I waited till midnight. Then started the next day at 9 AM and then again at 9 PM and so on. It keeps me awake at night and anxious during the day. I can't wait until it's done in 2 more days. It works, but I don't like it."

For Influenza "Had the flu for 4 days but didn't know it. Urgent care prescribed Tamiflu. Have taken 2 so far and don't feel any better at all. It's day 6 of the flu, and I'm tired, muscle pain, can't do anything. Splitting headache. Took Motrin 800 for the headache. Helped a little. Feel like crap. Would have expected a tiny improvement overnight. $68 with insurance!!! They said $181.65 without. You kidding me? What do people do who can't afford this stuff?"

For Influenza "This medicine is a godsend. I originally thought I had a fungal infection because there was mold after a renovation in my home. I assisted in cleaning it. Three weeks later, I was very ill. Lungs, completely no energy, all muscles aching to the point I couldn't even walk. No fever, but chills. After a week on antifungal medication and no better, it was somewhat used, I had the early flu virus going around. The first day I took it, I began feeling better that evening. Yes, I had a strange headache and some stomach upset. But within five days, all the flu that had plagued me greatly, including muscle and joint aches, are gone. I just have residual fatigue, but I've been sick a while and think that will just take time to come back. A big 10 for me."

For Influenza "Symptoms before Tamiflu - body ache, earache, persistent fever, coughing - feels burns inside and it hurts, vomiting while coughing, head pounding. Took only two doses so far and I stopped. I got insomnia - I could not sleep - I need sleep to rest. I would lie in bed and be unable to sleep. Also, I got nauseous, not for the whole day though. The medication is excellent in response to the flu!!!! My fever broke down after four hours. The coughing stopped except for the stuffy nose. It stopped the earache and body aches! Besides that, I drank lots of teas or water. I ate a bit."

For Influenza "I have taken this medicine twice. The first time I took it within the 48-hour period, and my symptoms were gone within 3 days and made a full recovery over a 6-day period. Now, as I write this, it is a different experience. My flu symptoms started two days ago with body ache, chills, headache, throat ache, and vomiting. I started Tamiflu later that day. My body ache and chills have gone away, but I have been throwing up more and feel so lightheaded. I have been drinking tons of fluids and Pedialyte. These meds are extremely powerful, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm petite, but my doctor told me to discontinue these meds (day 2 now), and I feel very uneasy on them. Godspeed if you try them!"

For Influenza "High fever and body aches began on Monday. Went to doc Tues morning and tested positive for Type A flu. Was prescribed Tamiflu and took first dose early Tues afternoon. My fever ceased by Weds morning, but the pain in my head began to increase dramatically. It's Thursday, and I now have diarrhea and am extremely nauseous. I could not sleep last night at all. The pain in my head was unbearable. I decided to take one of my migraine pills to see if it worked, as I could not take it anymore. It relieved it slightly. My mouth tastes horrible, and I think it is what is making me even more nauseous. Doc sent med for my young girls for prevention since they were exposed to the virus as well. They have not had any side effects. I do not think I am going to take my doses today. I cannot continue with this nausea and headache."

For Influenza "I think it is fair to say that the purpose of this drug is to alleviate the symptoms of the flu, and it does a great job of that. But at what cost? I am in the high-risk group, and I had to come to a decision. Almost immediately, this medication had me vomiting with a complete loss of bladder control for the 34 hours that I was taking it. At the time, I thought that I was just that sick, although in all of my 54 years, I had never experienced this. The headache was massive, and I was unable to sleep longer than 2 hours at a time, but the fever was gone, and the coughing decreased. I decided to stop the medication, and 24 hours later, I have my bladder control back, and the headache is gone. I'm still unable to tolerate anything but water, and a bad fit of coughing will still have me vomiting. Unless your life depended on it, I would stay away from Tamiflu."

For Influenza "Only on day 3 of 5, but I really feel like it's working. Despite the side effects, which for me have been headache, insomnia, and fatigue (because of the insomnia). I feel wired. Like my brain doesn't want to sleep even though my body does! However, the flu is not progressing at this point (knock on wood!). No high fever or chills. Think I caught it early. I would take it again for sure."

For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu in the morning on a Tuesday. Took before noon. This made me feel much worse. Vomiting, nausea, and headaches. Took four pills total, and after taking Tamiflu, each time made me feel terrible. I had to stop."

For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu after being ill with a strange and strong flu virus, but it made me feel so much worse, with vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and headaches in addition to my flu symptoms. It really isn’t worth it, and I wish I wasn’t prescribed it because now I’m faced with the task of finishing it because you have to complete the pack. I’m dreading taking the next one. It really isn’t worth feeling this way for hardly any benefits. Plus, it’s super expensive."
