Oseltamivir for Influenza "Running a 104 fever for 24 hours, went to urgent care and tested positive for influenza A. Took Tamiflu, and my nausea, headache, chills, and fever broke within 3 hours! Completely worth having a flu swab jammed up my nose."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I have taken Tamiflu once in the past and don't recall anything like what I just went through taking it. That was also almost 5 years ago, but I feel like if it was this bad, I'd remember! I was diagnosed Sunday at Urgent Care with the flu. The first day of medication, it was amazing, I thought, yes, this is working. The second day, not so much! I had a horrible headache, was completely drained, like to the point of not wanting to move to go to the bathroom, and to say it gave me bowel issues is an understatement! I had horrible diarrhea from it to the point of it happening while I slept! I have never had that happen to me with any meds or sickness! I emailed my regular doctor (it was after office hours) and she responded with, 'Stop it!!!'"

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I had the worst flu ever experienced in my 30 years of life! I wasn't able to go to my day job for 3 days. Sneezing, stuffy nose, loss of appetite, chills down my spine, headaches, bone aches, and every time I ate something, diarrhea. I had to go to my night job and couldn't cancel this one. I took my first Tamiflu pill, and wow! I was able to pull myself together to get to my night shift given all my crazy symptoms. The doctor gave me 75 mg 2x a day for the next 5 days. I'm still sick, but not as bad. Symptoms reduced significantly, so maybe a few more days of it. I am also taking DayQuil and NyQuil in combination with Tamiflu."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Well, I paid $40 for something that makes me throw up and get a bad headache?? I am only on the second dose, and I pray tonight I don't vomit, lol. Why is this a side effect?? I don't get it :( after last night's episode, I was scared to even take this tonight, but I did, lol."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "My daughter started showing flu symptoms last Saturday. I started coughing a bit the same night. Took her to urgent care - she was confirmed influenza. I gradually started feeling worse - tired, heavy chest, coughing, aches, low-grade temperature, exhaustion. I did a telemedicine call with my physician to get on Tamiflu. Started it Sunday night. Stayed home from work Monday with headache, low-grade fever, and general malaise. However, by evening I noticed a big improvement. By Tuesday, I felt well enough to go back to work - the day was very tiring and my head felt as if someone was squishing it together. But I’ll be tip-top by tomorrow. Insane. I’m definitely taking this again. Made this flu so mild."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu after testing positive for influenza. I thought I just had a head cold, but nothing OTC was touching my symptoms before Tamiflu. However, I recommend weighing your flu symptoms before taking Tamiflu, especially if you are a busy person who doesn't have time to be laid up on the couch like myself. If the flu already has you nauseated and a pounding headache, the potential headache and nausea side effects from Tamiflu won't be noticeable. Before Tamiflu, I felt I could vomit at any second, and just the sunlight intensified my headache so much my eyes would just pour water, today I no longer feel that way. I know the Zofran has also helped with the nausea. Thirty-six hours (three doses) into Tamiflu, and my aches are noticeably better."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Flu hit me bad on a Monday night/Tuesday morning. Sore throat, aches, low-grade fever. I wasn't getting better by Thursday, so I went in that night and tested positive for influenza A. Took first dose that night with a big dinner. Next morning I only had a snack (because it says just a snack is fine). I was throwing up bad within 30 minutes. Called the pharmacy, and thankfully you can take meclizine with it. Next dose Friday night, I ate a lot and took half a meclizine, and I was fine. I'm on my second dose Saturday night and still feel sick. I'm sad because I thought I'd be near the end of the flu by now. My throat isn't as bad, but my body is still so weak, and I have a headache. I'll still take it because I bet I would have gotten worse, and I'm a mom."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Went to see the doctor on my second day of flu, he prescribed me Tamiflu. After taking Tamiflu, headache was my biggest problem. Although the flu was gone in 2 days, my headache was very severe. Medicine was expensive, and I spent over $100. Thanks."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I’m on the 3rd dose of 10 currently. Tested positive for influenza type A with fever (102+) and heavy body aches/extreme tiredness. First dose: took before bed on night 1. Woke up feeling MUCH better. Second dose: 9:30 am today. Some headache and some body aches, no other side effects. Third dose: just now. Took it with a big meal and tons of ice water. I was very nervous about the nausea side effect (I hate throwing up) and the mental effects. No issues thus far. Got a great night's sleep last night too, likely because being off work with the flu gave me a chance to slow down mentally."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Husband was diagnosed with influenza B (swab) but had had symptoms too long to get Tamiflu. However, when a coworker and I talked, she was surprised to find that the clinic had not prescribed it to me as I have a pre-existing lung condition. Hubby was diagnosed Thursday night; I got Tamiflu Rx by phone on Friday. Was to use one a day for 10 days as prophylaxis; two a day if I showed symptoms. By Friday night, had congestion, fever, etc. Had a headache and slight fever for two days; now on the fifth day, the only thing I'm battling is cough/chest congestion and fatigue. Convinced that Tamiflu helped immensely, particularly as husband's symptoms were far worse than what I ever endured."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "The doc prescribed Tamiflu, and I vomited, headaches, and even got a worse fever. Prior to this drug, I was just taking paracetamol, I only had a fever and body ache, but when I took the Tamiflu, I wish I hadn't taken it because my side effects were severe, and it is quite expensive."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Mild body aches on Sunday night. Monday, aches really increased and a mild headache began. Went to bed Monday night, woke at 2 am with fever, chills, sweating profusely (soaked sheets), stomach ache, and severe headache. Tuesday, I went to urgent care-flu diagnosed. Tamiflu ordered 1 capsule twice daily for 5 days. After 3 doses (with food), the headache is gone, stomach ache gone, body aches very minimal. Get to the doc when the body aches start. I did take other things with the Tamiflu (I am not affiliated with any supplement company): I also took Echinacea, Stress 'B' Complex vitamin, and garlic supplement once a day. Also, have been drinking eight 8 oz glasses of water each day. I think some of the low reviews here must mean the person began taking Tamiflu beyond that critical 48-hour window. Feel better, everyone."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I went to sleep a little more tired than usual. The next morning, my throat was sore, my body ached, my head was pounding, and I could slowly feel it working its way into my chest. I went right to the doctor because I could feel that it was more than just a cold. He prescribed Tamiflu and azithromycin after taking my temperature at 102.3. It's been 2 days so far, and I'm feeling 70%, and the flu never had the chance to continue into my chest because Tamiflu stopped it from spreading further. Would definitely use again!"

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Symptoms started Sunday night, started Tamiflu Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday in bed, and now (Wednesday night) feeling much better. No more headache, body ache, sneezing, coughing, runny nose. Think I’ll be back at work tomorrow."

For Influenza "Went to the doctor for body aches, fever, and headache. Was tested for flu and tested positive. I was prescribed the generic form of Tamiflu, which the doctor said was not a cure but may relieve symptoms. So I said I would try. After the first dose, my body aches went away, but my headache did not. After taking the second dose, I had a terrible night's sleep. I had such a terrible headache, ice pick headache every 20 seconds to a minute. It hurt badly. At the same time, I started getting a sore throat. I think I'm going to stop taking the medication."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "This is amazing! From being so sick, not being able to hardly move to call Dr., I was so nauseated, bone-chilling pain, headache, weak, I was miserable! This drug is pricey, however, by the next day, I was up making myself some food. Still a little weak, however not laying in bed sick as a dog! The side effects that others are talking about are the same side effects of the flu, so I'm not sure it's fair to blame it on the drug. I say take Tamiflu and get going again!"

For Influenza "My husband came home from a conference with a cold, so I was hoping not to get it. Went out of state for Spring Break, when on the first day had fever and chills. I knew it wasn't a cold, so immediately went to local urgent care. Was diagnosed with the flu (no swab) and given Tamiflu and a Vitamin B12 shot. Took the first dose and threw up within 2 hours, woke up with a headache, but otherwise, didn't feel horrible. Progressively got better and was actually able to enjoy my trip. I'm better than my husband, who's the one that gave it to me! It's a lifesaver!"

Oseltamivir for Influenza "At the onset of flu symptoms, I made an appointment to see the doctor the next morning. I started taking Tamiflu an hour later, so it was definitely less than 36 hours before the onset of symptoms. I experienced some fever, chills, aches, headache, sore throat, and congestion for 2 days, and then felt much better each day after that. I am amazed at how quickly the flu resolved."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Never had the flu or flu shot in my 53 years on this planet. I guess there is a first time for everything. Diagnosed with influenza A within 48 hours of feeling sicker than I ever remember, severe fatigue, insane headache, chills, backache, scratchy throat, and difficult getting a good breath in. The nurse prescribed Tamiflu and Zofran (for nausea). Took the first dose of both drugs that night, I awoke feeling somewhat better, and after the second dose, I knew this stuff was working. Still super fatigued and no appetite, but I have had zero nausea or vomiting. I think the addition of Zofran is key. Tamiflu definitely lessens the symptoms and stops the virus from spreading through your entire body if given within 48 hours."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Side effects may vary from person to person. Practically all my family was diagnosed with influenza type B. My son got it early detected, and I saw improvements in him with the Tamiflu. But in my case, even when I had a 101.5 fever, I was feeling good until I got the Tamiflu. I started to feel very weak to the point of being in bed all the time. I thought it was a coincidence, but today I am fever-free and was very good until I took the 7th capsule (4th day), and I started to have a headache, tiredness, and dizziness again."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "This medicine did nothing for my flu. Started taking it within 24 hours of symptoms and being diagnosed. The only thing it did was cause me to have a horrible headache, stomach cramps, and diarrhea on top of my flu symptoms. So not happy. Would have been better off without it."
