For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 9 months after being tired of dealing with unbearable periods. It was my first time taking birth control, so I had no idea what to expect, but so far, so good! The first month or so, I felt the side effects of being very tired, out of breath/heart racing, anxious, and sore boobs. And still, I feel anxious sometimes and have dry eyes. It's really nothing I can't handle, and it's important to keep everything in perspective. My periods have been so manageable, I only get some cramping and have my period only about 3-4 days now!"

For Birth Control "This birth control gave me severe anxiety and depression. I never had either, and after 4 months of taking this pill, I got diagnosed as clinically depressed. I was dissociating and had memory/concentration problems, chest tightness, shortness of breath, stomach discomfort, and headaches. I never missed a pill, and I took it precisely on time every single day, but I still reacted terribly. I have been off this pill since August 2017, and it took a few months for me to feel like myself again. I do not recommend Taytulla to any person who already has symptoms of depression and/or anxiety. (Background info: I have been a vegetarian for 10 years, so I'm not sure if that had any impact on how this pill affected me, but if you follow that lifestyle, you may want to communicate it to your doctor.) On the other hand, it cleared my acne after 3 months (the first 2 months of taking it, my skin was terrible and broken out), and it did shorten my period to about 4 days."

"I would like to preface this with I'm a women's healthcare provider and prescribe hormonal-based products on a daily basis, so I do have an understanding of common hormonal-related side effects. I was given samples of Taytulla by another provider to try and help some of the age-related hormonal symptoms I was having at the time. After taking the first or second pack of pills, I started to get these episodes where I would almost pass out. I would get very lightheaded and dizzy and have to sit down for several minutes. I actually went to a cardiologist and had an evaluation because of it. I also started to get terrible anxiety and had some panic attacks, which led me to two trips to the ED. I finally made the connection and stopped the pills, and the symptoms completely resolved. I felt like such an idiot because I didn't make the connection sooner. Some women may take this pill just fine, but women should be aware that hormones of any kind can cause a multitude of symptoms."

For Birth Control "I just switched to Taytulla after being on Tri Femynor, which was an absolute nightmare, so I thought nothing could be worse than that. However, I was wrong. I only took it for one day and immediately had to come off. I was throwing up all night long, ridden with anxiety, and had extreme depressing thoughts. I had to take myself off as soon as possible because I knew I couldn't endure this until symptoms died down. I definitely do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I do not recommend this pill. I am back on Lo Lo Estrin Fe with no issues. Taytulla gave me severe anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, which I had never had before. It stopped almost immediately after I ceased taking it."

For Birth Control "When I first started Taytulla, I had side effects right away. My emotional level and anxiety were through the roof. My doctor said that it was my body getting used to it and to give it a chance. After the first month on this pill, I have aura migraines three times a week. My depression and anxiety were worse than they were the first month, and my energy level was at a 0. After being off it for a while, all the symptoms went away. I would never recommend this to ANYONE, especially people who have chronic migraines or have aura migraines."

For Birth Control "With Taytulla, I had breakthrough bleeding on top of the period I already have. Severe anxiety and depression. I cry at every little thing. I have to finish this pack, and then I'm switching to something else. I can't wait. I guess the only good thing it did was prevent me from getting pregnant."

For Birth Control "This drug made me psycho. It affected my relationship, which was really hard. It doesn’t give me tons of little zits, but a couple of large ones that take over my face that I have never really gotten before. If you don’t take it around the same time every day, you spot (at least for me, I did). But I think overall the worst part was how it made me feel. I’m sure it did its job, but I have always been an upbeat, happy person! This made me feel depression and anxiety, which was new to me. I just sob for no reason. My therapy was a hot bath. Works every time."

For Birth Control "This is the fourth birth control I’ve been on, and I do not recommend this to anyone. While taking this BC, I started to get extremely bloated, nauseous, had constant migraines, and I was extremely emotional about everything. I also caught myself slipping into a depression, I had high anxiety and lacked all motivation. I have zero history of depression and anxiety, so I really didn’t know how this felt. I have naturally low blood pressure, and I would wake up or go throughout the day, and my blood pressure would skyrocket. I truly have nothing positive to say about this BC. Look into other BCs if you’re going to get onto one or onto a new one."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill in Jan. of 2020, I was 18. I stopped taking it in Sept. of 2021. It was my first birth control ever, so I overlooked my symptoms a lot. My doctor prescribed Taytulla to help get rid of my ovarian cyst, but I decided to keep taking it after it was gone. I gained over 40 lbs in the last year of using it (while working out 5/6 days a week and being underweight my whole life)! My anxiety was the worst, I would have anxiety attacks at work and had to leave early multiple times because I’d pass out. Around the same time, I started having suicidal thoughts. My mood swings were a nightmare for everyone around me, I constantly felt bad. I'd cry all the time and anywhere, it was embarrassing and only made anxiety worse. After stopping, I’ve felt happier, no intense crying, I’ve even lost some weight. My periods are irregular again, so I started a new pill. Hope it works better than this one. Good luck to anyone taking Taytulla, I hope you have a better experience."

For Birth Control "This medicine makes me feel horrible. I get horrible depression and anxiety, sometimes I cry for no reason. Mood swings are horrible and are affecting my relationship. I don’t want to do anything other than be in bed and cry. Cramps are horrible, I get really bad migraines and loss of appetite. For me, it's been the worst experience ever. For Birth Control "HORRIBLE!! My ob-gyn offered this to help regulate my irregular menstrual cycle - I have had to call off work for how bad my cramps were and how depressed and anxious I have been. I wasn't sure it was the pill till I googled the reviews. Kicking myself for not doing it before. I woke up last night gasping for air and in a sweat, panicked and crying. Considered all my pills trashed!!!"

For Birth Control "I started Taytulla because I had prolonged bleeding. I went to the E.R. and they gave me Provera pills until I could make an appointment with my OB. Well, the ER doc gave me 10 pills, which stop my period instantly. Needless to say, the symptoms of those pills are heavy bleeding after you finish them, so here comes the bleeding again. My friend told me about the new b/c that she was taking and that I could use a back to stop my bleeding till I went to my doctor, and we weigh about the same, so I gave it a shot. I didn't experience symptoms till about three weeks on b/c. I had horrible headaches that felt like migraines, which I'm not a person that really has headaches. I would space out like I had tunnel vision, I was always tired, and I'm pretty energetic. I lost my appetite, my anxiety wasn't too bad, I started to get moody and depressed. I took myself off, I'd rather bleed than feel like a zombie. Everybody is different, though. I wouldn't recommend it, but to each its own!"

For Birth Control "I have always been a positive and outgoing person, only had acne when my period came, and I was looking to get on birth control, so my doctor prescribed this. Now for the month that I’ve been on it, it’s been terrible. My acne is worse than when I was in high school and I have developed severe sadness and anxiety, which is miserable since I know I haven’t always been like that. I understand everybody is different, but me feeling constant sadness and anxiety so suddenly had me look into this and I read how I wasn’t the only one with a bad experience. On to the next pill."

I then realized it could be the pill. And after reading all these reviews that are similar, it gives me a huge relief. I’m stopping the pill and switching."

For Birth Control "I am currently almost through my second pack of Taytulla. The first pack was a nightmare. I bled heavily for more than half of the month. The cramping was awful, and I became extremely depressed. I was told to stay on the pill another month until my hormones balanced out. While the bleeding stopped, my mood is very low, and my anxiety is very high. I also have gained 4 1/2 pounds. My breasts are extremely tender, and I have developed nightly migraines. This will be my last pack of these pills."

For Birth Control "Absolutely loved this birth control, Taytulla. I’m so sad my insurance no longer covers this medication. The first two packs I did have spotting, anxiety, and weight gain, but after that I was back to normal with a healthier diet. I definitely recommend and I hope I can get back on this one ASAP."
