For Hirsutism "I have had problems with facial hair since my mid-20s. I am now 54. This medication has been LIFE-CHANGING. I have tried electrolysis and laser. Both work, but only for a limited time as the professionals who do this have told me that NEW hair follicles darken and cause problems, even though the hair follicles they have treated are dead. I have plucked 'forever,' causing hairs to get coarser, causing nearly constant breakouts on my chin from ingrown hairs. Bottom line: It took about 4 weeks to notice a big difference. I use it on chin and upper lip. It changed the amount and texture of hair. Excellent product! I no longer obsess about my facial hair."

For Hirsutism "I have had immediate results with Vaniqa, reducing coarse hairs on my chin and all hair on my upper lip. I also noticed a big reduction in whiteheads and ingrown hairs on my chin. Because I also have had moderate hair loss with thinning on my entire head, I reduced application to once every day. I still had hair coming out on brushing, so now down to once every other day."

For Hirsutism "Wanted to share a tip for other sufferers. I'm 72: I've had significant chin hair since I was 14. For most of my life, I spent an hour a day plucking. In my fifties, I got it down to 45 minutes, plus depilatory for the finer hairs every 2-3 days. I first got Vaniqa when it was still new, and it's been a relief since I no longer have the energy I once did. It helps a lot if you use it every day, it helps some even if you use it only every 3 days. However, I quickly discovered that it gives me acne -- at least one bump for every application. So before I put it on, I apply a layer of salicylic acid lotion, cheap from CVS. Interestingly, it doesn't seem to affect how well the Vaniqa works at all. About the price. Yes, it's a fortune, but one tube lasts me about a year."

For Hirsutism "This cream does work. I noticed results within 2 weeks. I've been using it for 2 months now, and the chin and jawline hair that I have has diminished drastically, and what is left on my face is very fine. I used to spend at least an hour tweezing every day, plus it left my chin constantly red and had to always use concealer on my chin all the time. The redness is 90% gone, and I don't get as many pimples from tweezing. This product would be out of my budget, but for the moment, I am lucky that it's on prescription and that I have a medical card."

For Hirsutism "My whole life I had really nice skin. Then, in my late 30s, I started to get these patches of thick hairs on my chin and lip that would become ingrown and cause painful acne/folliculitis. My dermatologist suggested Vaniqa. I used it for 6 weeks. My skin became the worst it's ever been. The hairs became deeper ingrown, seemingly causing so much pain, and I didn't think the growth of the other hair was slowing down at all. I developed the most horrific cystic acne that, 18 months later, is still not healed. In the areas I used it, I developed scars where the pigmentation is completely gone, and I have deep indentations about 1/2 inch in diameter all over my face. If I ever want to look normal again, I'll need so much cosmetic surgery. The absolute only thing in my regime that was different was the Vaniqa, and after I stopped using it, the cystic acne slowed and then stopped."

For Hirsutism "This cream is not for me! It burned my skin, and I have been dealing with really bad skin since, although I stopped using it as soon as I broke out. My face is completely covered with small pimples and blackheads for weeks. I can't believe I paid this much money for a cream, just to have my face get this bad. I'd rather have hair on my face, quite honestly."

For Hirsutism "I have suffered from hirsutism for years. I recently started on Vaniqa 4 weeks ago and notice a huge difference around my chin and upper lip. But I have started developing acne as a side effect, or is this folliculitis? Has anyone experienced this? And have any suggestions to help with the acne (folliculitis)? Thank you!"

For Hirsutism "I have been using Vaniqa for just over 4 weeks now. I was plucking my upper lip/chin/neck every single day. This was causing my skin in these areas to be red, irritated, and PIH on my upper lip. As you can imagine, my self-esteem was affected negatively. In the 4 weeks, I can see a major difference in not only the frequency of having to remove hair, but the hair itself. The hair comes in finer, lighter, and easier to remove. I now pluck once every 1-2 weeks. I use it with Meladerm on my upper lip for the hyperpigmentation. I have not noticed any scalp hair loss - the only side effect I have experienced is small acne in the area where I apply it, but that was only in the beginning. It works, you just have to be patient! The only reason I give it 8 stars is because of the price. It's not covered with my insurance. It's a shame that this company charges so much for a medicine that helps women seeking an answer for a very embarrassing condition when they are the only company to make it."
