"I had been using this cream for several years, and it helped lengthen the time between hair removal. Then, it stopped working. I'm not sure if I built up a tolerance to it, but it was like I wasn't using it at all. So, I took a break for about 10 months and just started using it again. I'm hoping it will start working again. If not, I don't know what I'm going to do. :("

"Like other users, this has changed my life. Instead of hours peering into my magnifying mirror, plucking and waxing, only to find all the hairs have returned with a vengeance a few days later, I now can sit in daylight without being mistaken for a yeti. The pharmacist has told me the supply issue will not be resolved until 24th September 2018, and that is likely to slip, and that there are no other similar creams. What can I do? Considering if I can do my job with a pillowcase over my head. Any other suggestions welcome."

Eflornithine topical "This cream is not for me! It burned my skin, and I have been dealing with really bad skin since, although I stopped using it as soon as I broke out. My face is completely covered with small pimples and blackheads for weeks. I can't believe I paid this much money for a cream, just to have my face get this bad. I'd rather have hair on my face, quite honestly."

Eflornithine topical "I have PCOS, and like Sandy further down the reviews, I am shocked at how much some women have to pay for this treatment! I am so lucky to be Welsh for many reasons, one of which is NHS Wales. As a single working mother, I would struggle to justify paying so much for something for myself, so I am beyond grateful that NHS Wales provides this treatment at no cost. I haven't been using it for long (9 days), but already I can see a huge difference in growth rate. Before, I would have to shave every morning, but now it's down to every 3 days. I am confident that the growth rate will continue to slow and hopeful that it will halt altogether. I will check back in a few weeks with an update. For now, it's 8/10 just for the simple fact that I don't know what my end results with the treatment will be."

Eflornithine topical "I have suffered from hirsutism for years. I recently started on Vaniqa 4 weeks ago and notice a huge difference around my chin and upper lip. But I have started developing acne as a side effect, or is this folliculitis? Has anyone experienced this? And have any suggestions to help with the acne (folliculitis)? Thank you!"

Eflornithine topical "I've been using this for over three months now, and I'm delighted with it. I've tried almost everything else on the market during the last 30 years, none of which has worked as well as this. After two weeks, I was ready to be disappointed, but it gradually started to work. Yes, it's expensive (a tube lasts about 9 weeks), but it's worth every penny to see the hair growth almost disappear. I still have to use a no-no (hair removal system) once a week and occasionally the tweezers, but the difference is remarkable. To feel a smooth chin and upper lip is just great!"

Eflornithine topical "I was one of the people who found no benefit after 8+ weeks. I knew that only 1 in 3 seem to see a reduction in hair growth."

Eflornithine topical "I just started using this less than a week ago, it is covered under my insurance. I hope it works for me. I've had unwanted chin hair growth for over 30 years, and it was hard for me."

Eflornithine topical "Not sure if it's working either, following directions for how much it is. I used to do electrolysis, which didn't do much either; she said not to pluck because it would reopen the now cauterized blood supply for the hair follicle; but I don't know if I should pluck for the cream to get to the follicle? I also have to apply it to my 'happy trail' and around my nipples; my doctor said it's okay to use there. I'm applying rubbing alcohol to clean it better?? Also, I apply it to my beard minus rubbing alcohol, so I have to be very sparing with it. I also tried for a rebate, not fair, not covered by insurance... coupon ideas anyone? Are there generics, and do they work?"

"I have chin hair, dark and coarse. I started doing laser and ended up having more hair on my face near the treated area. I visited a gynecologist who provided me with hormone therapy to control PCOS and asked me to go for laser. But I decided to end up waxing my face still, so depressed due to more hair than before. Now my dermatologist suggested elfora/elyn, now I'm using it. Let's see what this brings to me. Hoping for the best. Some hair has already shed out in 5 days."

Eflornithine topical "I was lucky enough to get this on prescription from an NHS dermatologist. It began working within a very short time. Hair is a lot less, finer, and not so noticeable. Every few weeks, hair seems to increase slightly, but I think that is due to hair's natural cycle as it grows. I am very pleased with this cream and will continue to purchase it myself. The tube lasts about 10 weeks."

Eflornithine topical "I have not bought this due to being really expensive. I was lucky enough and asked my sister if she could get it for me in Germany. Her doctor gave her the prescription and bought it for only $9. I will be receiving it in a week and can’t wait to start using it."

Eflornithine topical "I really wanted to write a great review for this, but I just cannot. I started this product 6 weeks ago, so I realized that it may still be too early. I do think that the growth rate has slowed down slightly (still shaving 3 times a day, though). It’s been so harsh on my skin that my neck looks even worse than before. I have bumps everywhere on my neck and chin that are so hard to cover up, and you can still see and feel stubble seconds after shaving. My self-esteem is practically gone, and I don’t know how much longer I can do this. I plan on starting electrolysis in a few weeks, so I will continue to use Vaniqa for now. I just wish I saw a better result, I was so hopeful."
