Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I started having major panic attacks and general anxiety cuased by the bereavement of my daughter who dies unexpectedly a few months ago. I would wake up int he morning with butterflies in my stomach and feeling like a deer in the headlights. As the day progressed it only got worse. After weeks of this it was just unbearable. I went to see a psychiatrist who prescribed valium- the lowest dose. I take half a pill in the morning and evening and have been on this regimen for two weeks. I cannot begin to tell you what a tremendous relief this drug has provided. I am very sensitive to all kinds of meds and the strongest thing I ever take is Ibuprofen. I had no bad reactions nor any side effects. Awesome."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I was diagnosed with anxiety, depression, panic attacks & PTSD. This medicine has helped me tremendously. Only take 2mg as needed & haven’t had any addiction problems. Often times when I get so worked up my family members & doctors remind me to take Valium. I use it as a last resort only when I can’t calm myself down, so I am definitely not addicted. I only have to take it a few times a month. For me 2 mg can keep me calm for 2 To 3 days. It helped me go back to work and go out in public places. It has given me a part of my life back. It does not make me sleepy and I have not had any side effects. This is the best medication I have ever taken for my anxiety& my depression. It has helped me live life again."

For Anxiety "Valium/is a life saver. INSTANT calming from anxiety, depression. Put the tablet under your tongue .. immediately released into your system. ADDICTED? So what?, it works .. no different than HAVING TO TAKE HEART MEDS for the rest of my life. I'm not addicted to them .. they keep me alive. Valium keeps me sane and prevents depression & anxiety. .. difference ?..NONE .. Feel the same way about Ambian. Sleep disorders my entire life... age 50 Dr recommended. Now really get a GOOD NIGHT DEEP SLEEP .. totally rested in the morning instead of tired. ADDICTED ... yup .. same same as Valium ... my body responds positively ... so who cares if it is an addiction .. it works for the purpose intended. And I am healthier & happier."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I took valium in my 40s and it helped me so much!! I'm 70 now and just hit a bad patch about 2 months ago. But no one will write me anything?? I took it for 8 years but certainly was always concerned with making sure I never got addicted. I believe its a shame that doctors will not write a script for you a drug that will help you!!"

Valium (diazepam) for Muscle Spasm "Very helpful with back injury & muscle spasms. No side effects that I'm aware of. My condition is severe, without it and other meds I still have restless poor sleep due to severe pain & spasms but I barely have no sleep or relief without it."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "Valium is the best drug for me for spasms in my neck and shoulder, and for anxiety as well. It is rated the highest on drugs.com. Many consumers think it is effective. Some of the best medications are being blackballed by the DEA and the CDC. Patients don't believe the propaganda against Valium. It is not sedating for me and is one of the most effective medications I have taken. The pain clinic might tell you there are better drugs for muscle spasms. Patients don't believe a lot of what pain clinics say. The pain clinic employees should concentrate on treating pain, not causing pain and not trying to police patients. They have hurt many patients, and that is unacceptable."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I have been taking two (one in the morning and one at night) 5mg Valium for the last five years. It has worked wonders for me. I have not changed the dosage and have had no reason to increase it. Before I started this medicine, I would literally tremble when I would get nervous. I don't even feel it in any way when I take it, but don't get anxious and am able to make decisions that I can't when I'm so nervous. This medicine has worked miracles for me and if anyone thinks because it is a controlled substance that it is not a really good medicine for some people then they are wrong."

For Muscle Spasm "Valium when especially used in the evening gives me a very decent sleep as the tension in my muscle spasms, twitches, stiffness are significantly improved. Doctor had stopped it after bad press. Tried neuro stuff, lyrica (rubbish), antidepressants (really? rubbish), therapy (hmm), random pain meds but valium all the way. No side effects just relief."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I've suffered social anxiety for years and just battled on. Then someone smashed into my car from behind while in traffic and I started having awful panic attacks. I didn't really know what they were at first but I was struggling badly. Eventually things calmed down but a hugely stressful life situation caused the attacks to flair up again. I finally sought help and was prescribed 2mg diazepam, 1 - 2 Tabs for an attack. I will barely take a headache tablet I was extremely worried about using Valium. But it's absolutely amazing. Use it with caution, take as little as possible and stop and see what happens. I can take half a tablet (1mg) to completely stop panic episodes that have built up over time. Be careful and it will serve you well."

For Anxiety "I was prescribed Valium (Diazepam) 10mg as needed up to 3x daily 4 1/2 years ago for tension headaches. I also am diagnosed with GAD/PTSD and Panic disorder. After taking the drug for so long I have discovered how affective it is. I can enjoy life in a way I have never experienced. Going to the Movies, out in crowds, traveling by plane, I even lost my stutter, the list goes on. I suffered an Aortic Aneurysm rupture in 2014 because of a stressful phone call. Now there seems to be draconian measures in place to stop all use of this drug. For those of us who don't abuse it I don't care if it is physically addictive. The benefits out weigh the negatives in my case. Now I must find a Doctor that understands that my case is Mental/Physical. I still have an abdominal aneurysm and must fear my own adrenaline because that one can rupture the same way. I was lucky last time but next time there is no way to save my life."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I was first prescribed Valium about 18 months ago to assist with combating panic disorder. My personal experience with generic brands of the drug have been, without a doubt, excellent. I believe my improvements are due to the combination of Valium, regular CBT therapy, and making consistent changes (ie pushing myself socially, improving diet and exercise). Many of us, can become overly reliant on medication, so I feel a holistic approach is needed for real, long term results. However, for moderate to severe anxiety/panic attacks, Valium is INCREDIBLE. Gives a true, gradual calming effect, with no grogginess or next-day hangover. The effect can only be described as feeling clear-headed. Definitely worth a try."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "Let me start off with thanking valium for helping me to get onto an airplane after years of fear! I got on that plane like I owned it lol... got into Mexico and was still calm as a clam on the taxi ride to the hotel. OK but now my anxiety has come back to me lately and I've felt the need to take 5mg of valium almost every other day...I'm a changed person on it... I have no fears, it helps me save the world... it brings my appetite back to the point I want to order everything off the menu... I'm more calm with my children I'm happy and playful. I do also see a counsellor once a week and I am aware of the unfortunate withdraws valium could possibly have."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "When I returned from my second tour in Vietnam in 1971, I was a "mess" mentally. My diagnosis was/is Generalized Anxiety Disorder. After trying various medicines, my psychiatrist settled on 10MG Valium three times a day. Although certain circumstances will still make me anxious, they are limited and my normal life is fine. Has worked for 41 years! Thank you Valium!"

For Muscle Spasm "I have 3 spinal diseases & have several spinal surgeries & need to have more. I have chronic pain. I was on diazepam for about, 2 years or so. I have tried all natural thing’s & also many other meds similar to diazepam that haven’t worked for me. I sure would love to have my diazepam script back. I feel that diazepam is older than me & has been tested to be tried & true. Unlike some other meds. I feel it is & was a huge benefit to me & my health. An absolute life saver."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I have PTSD, severe anxiety, panic attack disorder, insomnia and depression. I am in recovery, but at one point it was all so bad I reached psychological burnout. I no longer felt nor had energy. This drug has been my savior. This is the only drug that instantly diffuses panic attacks and flashbacks. I manage to only take it as needed, some days I don't need any. But just knowing it is there is enough to make me feel like it's gonna be ok. I am grateful I have a wonderful doctor who understands and actually helps me. I have felt withdrawal symptoms in the past, and I can see how it can be addictive. But for someone suffering for so long for something to take away the panic attacks without resorting to drinking etc, I am so grateful."

Valium (diazepam) for Muscle Spasm "I have been put on Valium to relieve the muscle spasms and aches due to the reduction of Prednisone, which I have been taking for a long period of time (26 years). Anyway this reduction of Prednisone has caused me quite a bit of muscle spasms, muscle aches, and muscle pain. The 10 mg of Valium relieves the muscle spasms and achiness. I feel the Valium is a God send for my relief. I take one 10-mg tab of Valium every morning when I wake up, as that is when the muscle pain is most severe. The Valium is effective in relieving the effects of the tapering down of my Prednisone level. Valium works very well for me. I rate the Valium a 10 in my relief!"

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "My psychiatrist prescribed this for me reluctantly when I demanded some relief from horrible anxiety. I did not abuse it, and he monitored my intake. In the first few years I averaged 10mg per week. I went through a horrible personal tragedy and upped the dose, with psychiatrists' full knowledge. The tragedy lasted 3 years, and I quit valium cold-turkey. I stayed in bed 8 months, and learned the meaning of the phrase "pray without ceasing." Literally. For those who need some kind of timeline, I speak from experience that withdrawal eased up after 8 months. God willing, I will never touch benzos again. Short-term for some patients they offer some benefits. Short term ONLY."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I have been suffering with Bi-polar, Severe Depression & Severe Anxiety for many years now & have been put on & tried many different drugs by Dr's BUT the only thing that works is Valium & I take up to three 5 mgs per day & I feel so so GOOD. I can function I am way more productive & I actually get out & talk to people which is normally a no no for me. I also get a great appetite which I don't have if I don't take any. I was under a great Psychiatrist for many years until he retired I then had to move to the country where it was extremely hard to even find a GP but I finally did but have had to go private & he has put me onto a barrage of new Dr's to see in the New Year who are all private as well so I am stressed about paying for all of these at the moment & getting the new GP to give me any Valium is like asking for his kidney but on 2 rare occasions he has given ten 10mg Temazepam's which did help but I had to stretch them out."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I current take this medication to stay calm. I have bad anxiety due to some ptsd related issues. I've tried em all from Ativan-Xanax, and this medication works well. I currently take a generic brand. The brand is TEVA. I did not like the Mylan brand, for it was chalky and was weak. TEVA is a great generic Valium and it helps very well for people struggling from anxiety disorder. I hope this helps somebody."

For Anxiety "This medication has made my life possible. Why oh why do GP’s have an issue with it ? Have tried SSRI’s and Propanolol; neither do anything to make me function as ‘me’. This isn’t a dialogue oriented site, but, if something is making one’s life great, why oh why do old fashioned GP’s try to change medication? Why treat me like a criminal?"

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "Been taking Valium now since 1976 for severe anxiety and it has been a lifesaver for me. I was on 20mg daily but reduced to 10mg daily over 2 years, tried reducing to 7.5 mg but anxiety kicked in again so reckon 10mg is my best option. I have never had any adverse effects and at 71 years old can see no reason to try and stop this drug. I too despise the scumbags that sell and abuse this medication and also the new breed of doctors that insist on weaning you off a lifetime lifesaver. Take note doctors that these drugs do not affect my driving ability or my mental ability and leave what your own doctors prescribed over 40 years ago alone."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "To anyone scared of taking this infamous drug (which I was) - you won't lose your sobriety, it just slows down your brain. This means it's great for situations where you risk creating phobia instead of familiarity (new places, new people). I'm armed with all the tools I need for knowing what my body and brain need as things happen (self-reassurance, gratitude, understanding, catching my own cogs before they turn, time out, etc) but you can't always choose when sensory overload will happen. As a pre-emptive measure this will be a useful tool for me when I know things'll be too handle even with an arsenal of knowledge to tackle the triggers."

Valium (diazepam) for Anxiety "I have been taking Valium every day for 5 years for anxiety and muscle spasms. Good to kill 2 birds with one stone. I take a relatively microscopic dose of 2.5mg/day, and after 5 years, I have probably built up a tolerance to it so that this tiny dose has no physiological effect any more. But even if I'm now getting the placebo effect from it, I don't care. I don't have panic attacks any more and that's all I really care about."

For Anxiety "Best treatment for panic attacks out there in a time tested medication. Recently been found to be closest to body's natural neurotransmitters compared to other benzos. You can get addicted to any drug. I've tried many antidepressants. Bad side effects. Terrible side effects. Look at risperdal. If I have a headache I take some tylenol or motrin and 9 time out of 10 my headache goes away. I can take an drug that they tell me might take 2 weeks or longer to start working. Maybe. If I'm having a panic attack I can't wait 2 weeks. I need something that works quickly. And if I have a seizure I don't wanna wait weeks for that either. I consider this drug like my insulin. I was diagnosed with severe anxiety disorder among other things and I have taken seizures before. Valium works best for me. 5mg in the morning and I am productive and fine for 8 to 10 hours. This medication has been a lifesaver for me for a long time. I do not believe it deserves the bad reputation it has for being SO addictive."
