Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "The instructions aren’t clear at all. You need to use the bulb to flush your ear out DIRECTLY AFTER EVERY USE!! From personal experience, if you do this, it will work. If not, it will block up your ears even more and make it very difficult to hear. Hope this helps!"

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "The first time I did this I only had minor hearing loss - Debrox TOTALLY clogged my ear. I flushed and became discouraged. Decided to try the next morning with the SAME RESULTS even with a shower, this time I kept Debrox in 20 minutes. I’m writing this review because this morning I left it in for 30 minutes and it took maybe 20-30 flushes of my ear before a HUUUUUGE clump of wax just plopped out into the sink. It takes time and patience. But I decided I’d do it over the weekend when the doctors office was closed and call doctor Monday if needed. Now — I don’t have to! Works great if you remain persistent."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I have been a nurse for nearly 20 years and have frequently had to use this product on clients. I will not argue anyone's previous points or experiences, because they are all unique to the individual. However, I will say that used as directed, twice daily-this treatment will work. Having said that, I feel the bulb syringe is pretty much useless, it just indiscriminately sprays water into your ear canal and may or may not have an impact on the cerumen (ear wax). One is better served by investing in a home ear irrigation system-especially if this is a regular problem. And have someone do the irrigation for you. Less awkward and better results. These systems allow a more directional and focused flow of water. Also, putting equal parts water and hydrogen peroxide together prior to flushing helps as well. If none of this works at home, then see your primary care physician, and they should be able to use a pick or curette to remove the impaction. Hope this helps."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I used this product to try and get rid of some impacted earwax but it clogged my ear and almost completely took my hearing away. Rinsing it did absolutely no good for me. I tried using straight hydrogen peroxide and rinsed afterwards, which seemed to help a little bit, but I might have to see an ENT to unclog my ear."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I have issues with wax in my ears all the damn time and every single time I am condescendingly told to use this ridiculous product that does absolutely nothing but make things worse. I was deaf for two weeks and had to take medication in 2018 because of this drug, as I should've gone to get the wax removed yet the debrox had to have given me an ear infection. I sit here now with it in my ear reluctantly and once again it is not working. Screw this drug it should be removed from shelves"

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I was advised to use Debrox by my friend who is an audiologist as a way to treat my impact wax during the COVID-19 pandemic... I used it once and let it sit in my ear for several minutes before dumping and rinsing with water. It did slightly loosen some of the wax in my ear, but at the cost of extreme discomfort and (hopefully temporary) mild hearing loss. I genuinely feel as though I need to go and see an ENT, which would be extremely frustrating with my work schedule and the current pandemic. I'm hoping my hearing will naturally restore over the next day, but if not I will go see an ENT. I DO NOT recommend this product, the ends did not justify the means."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I used Debrox to try and help with ear wax and became almost totally deaf. People had to shout directly into my ear to hear. I decided to go to the ENT and had the wax removed. My ear got plugged up again and I used Debrox again for 4 days in a row. First I tried 2 minutes, then 5 minutes, then 15 minutes, and finally 30 minutes and my ear was still plugged. Each time I flushed it 6 times. My ear became more and more plugged each time I used Debrox. Finally to save going to the ENT again, my wife unplugged it with an ear wax pick."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I used this because i felt my ears needed a bit of cleaning and wow now I literally can’t hear a thing from my right ear for the past 8 hours. I’m so frustrated and I’m considering going to the emergency room tomorrow to ask for some help since the clinic I usually go to doesn’t open until Monday. Please if you’re going to try this…just don’t call your doctors office and tell them if they could clean out ur ears and they’ll say yes and you won’t be literally deaf from one ear like i am."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "Came hear to find out what the was going on with my ear drops. I used Debrox for a few days and then today, just like others, I lost nearly all hearing in one ear. After reading other reviews here I went back and did about 10 more warm water bulb rinses and, eventually, a ball the size of a pea came out! Seriously, I had to take a picture it was so big. Hearing is now better than ever. I won't downplay the experiences of others, I feel like I got lucky. But definitely try the bulb rinses if you experience a sudden loss of hearing from this!! It may just mean that the wax has dislodged and made things worse. The wax may still come out if you keep at it with warm water. If the water still doesn't work, head to the doc. Honestly, I think the average person would not have this problem. My doc had told me to use it because I had a LOT of wax."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "Please be careful with this product. Like others, I tried the drops and didn’t have the syringe. My left ear became blocked. Went and purchased the blue syringe and flushed out several times. No relief. Went to my Primary Care doc. Tried flushing some more. He couldn’t tell if my eardrum might have been ruptured. Sent me home with antibiotic drops. Took Zyrtec…used hot compresses. Three days later, I’m still miserable and my ear is clogged. Going to urgent care tomorrow. Hoping they can help. I’ll never use this product again."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I regret using Debrox. I get occasional build-up in one of my ears so I decided to try it out. After 1 day, I'm still having issues hearing out of the ear I put it in. Big annoyance. They should explicitly put some warnings of these side-effects on the box so people are aware before using. Hopefully my hearing comes back soon."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I went to the ER yesterday after losing hearing in both ears. The Dr. gave me a script for prednisone, a referral to an ENT & told me to try Debrox. My hearing was better when I woke up today, probably due to the prednisone, but after using Debrox I’ve lost it again, & this time worse. It’s Thanksgiving week & the ENT the Dr. referred me to is on vacation so now I have to find another one. I’m so angry. Do not use this stuff. Ever. Would rate a zero if possible."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I have the same complaints others supplied, that use of Debrox per manufacturer recommendations caused discomfort and a feeling of impaction of the wax in my ears. I got a miniscule amount of wax out from one ear following 4 days treatment."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I wish I had read this thread before I bought this garbage. I put it in my ear, heard the sizzling thinking it was working, had my held tilted for several minutes then and nothing came out. After 2 hours of not being able to hear out of that ear my hearing finally came back. I experienced bad vertigo and dizziness and now have a headache. The rest of the bottle is going in the garbage."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "For anyone reading this after you realized this product made you have hearing loss. For hours I was freaking out. I tried everything. I’m here to save you an ER trip. Take the palm of your hand.. put it against your ear. Plunge your ear as you would a toilet. Took about 5 plunges… water came pouring out. I could instantly hear. However I’m left with an ear ache. No ear wax was even removed. How is this even sold?"

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "It worked for me. It's unsettling, I think, when a 90% earwax-blocked ear becomes 100% blocked after you put these drops in. The box said to wait 4 days to flush (putting drops in every day), but there was no way I was going to wait that long to try and clear the block. Left the drops in about 20 minutes. Waited about 3 hours. Then put in some Hydrogen Peroxide for about 15 minutes. I flushed about 3 1/2 hours after the first use of the drops. It took a few tries to find the right angle for flushing. I'd recommend only doing one ear at a time, just in case you can't get the wax to flush. YMMV. Good luck everyone!"

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I can not believe this stuff is OTC. I used it exactly as directed, twice a day for 4 days in my right ear. I did flushes every time immediately after use. Since the first use, my right ear feels like it's full of water and under pressure. I have ringing in it too. Practically zero wax was removed, but my hearing is worse and the tinnitus is maddening. I got this to save time, rather than go to an ENT. I seriously regret that decision."

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "Please do not buy. I thought I might have some buildup in my ears, so I bought this stuff. I used it for about a week, nothing ever came out. But now I’ve had constant discomfort and occasional pain in my ears ever since using. Absolute garbage. I’m going to have to see an ear doctor now. Please listen to this and other 1 star reviews, it’s not worth it to try this. If you feel you legitimately need help with your ears, you should check with a doctor."

Ear Wax Remover (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "Doctor recommended for softening my earwax over the weekend for removal on Monday. Used as directed my ear pain increased stealing over the weekend until I couldn't wait to see doctor on Monday. Earwax still couldn't be washed out. His only solution was to see a specialist but they were booked 90 day out. Managed to get in sooner (45 days) and have the wax removed. Still couldn't hear. Had hearing test. Deminished hearing. Rescheduled follow up hearing test 60 days out. No improvement in hearing. Might be permanent. Considering my next step. Had perfect hearing before"

I can’t believe something like this is still on shelves in the store and worst of all “recommended”by doctors!!! I rate this zero and hope I can hear again soon"

Warning!! · July 26, 2021

Debrox (carbamide peroxide) for Ear Wax Impaction "I've had tinnitus (ringing) in my left ear since an injury in the 80's. The hearing in that ear is about 10 - 20%. The hearing in my right ear 'was' close to normal but I encountered a mild loss in hearing nine days ago. I attributed this to ear wax impaction and purchased Debrox ear wax removal the following day. I applied the product as per directions. After approx. 15 minutes, I felt a mild pain in my inner ear as well as under my ear and on the right side of my throat. After 20 minutes or so, my hearing in the right ear began to dissipate. After several hours, the hearing level in my right ear was poor. I now have TINNITUS in MY RIGHT EAR and it's worse than my left. Now, we're seven days in and the tinnitus has worsened and my hearing in my right ear is VERY LOW... somewhere I would guess around 5-10% if that. I have an appointment with an otolaryngologist tomorrow morning. Please USE Caution when using this or similar products."
