What is Auraphene-B?

Auraphene-B (for the ears) is used to soften and loosen ear wax, making it easier to remove.

How should I use Auraphene-B?

Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Auraphene-B may be packaged with a bulb syringe that is used to flush out your ear with water. To use the bulb syringe:

Do not use Auraphene-B for longer than 4 days in a row. Call your doctor if you still have excessive earwax after using this medicine, or if your symptoms get worse.

Clean the bulb syringe by filling it with plain water and emptying it several times. Do not use soap or other cleaning chemicals. Allow the syringe to air dry.

Keep the medicine bottle tightly closed and store it in the outer carton at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Since Auraphene-B otic is used when needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are on a schedule, use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

An overdose of carbamide peroxide otic is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 if anyone has accidentally swallowed the medication.

What should I avoid while using Auraphene-B?

Avoid getting Auraphene-B in your eyes or mouth.

Do not use other ear drops unless your doctor has told you to.

What other drugs will affect Auraphene-B?

It is not likely that other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on Auraphene-B used in the ears. But many drugs can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medicines you use, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
