For High Blood Pressure "I have been on this 8 mg for very high blood pressure and it seems to reduce BP only slightly if at all. Constant nasal congestion and needing to clear my throat. Unusual fatigue from walking, walking usually energizes me. Knee pain which I never had before. Depression in the evening which is also new. Anxiety. Shoulder pain. Leg pain. And now this: I suddenly have arthritis in my fingers, never had before (a rare but known side effect), and this is freaking me out so thoroughly that I am weaning myself off this drug immediately. What the heck good is a drug that does not do what it is supposed to do and impacts your bones, joints, and mobility, for goodness' sake??!! Mobility is precious, folks -- guard it with your life. Am going to try some other drug. There must be something better than this."

For High Blood Pressure "I experienced side effects that included muscular pain, especially in the arms, shoulders, and neck, as well as fatigue, inability to concentrate in the evenings, and slight depression. As soon as I reduced the medication, I began to feel better. After a week of taking half of the dose, my doctor took me off. I now feel 10 years younger. I have no pain, I am much less tired, and I can concentrate again!"

For High Blood Pressure "I was on Amlodipine, but they were making my ankles swell so badly. Doc put me on 8 mg Candesartan. My blood pressure started to rise, not lower, I had bad pain in my jaw to the point I thought it was my back molar tooth. Dentist said it wasn't my tooth but maybe a gum infection. Five days of antibiotics and no let-up of pain. I was taking up to 10 pain relievers a day. Blood pressure into the 170/103, no less than 147/90 for weeks. Asked doc if tooth pain could be causing this, he said yes. Back to emergency appointment to the dentist. Told me nothing wrong with my tooth, it must be gum disease. I mentioned my blood pressure being high because of pain, he then asked if I was taking tablets for it. Found out then it could be the tablets causing my pain and high blood pressure. I stopped taking the Candesartan straight away, and after a week off them, happy to say my blood pressure is back to normal, and tooth pain fading away nicely."

For High Blood Pressure "Until two weeks ago, I had been on this medication for at least a decade, 16 mg morning. It controlled my BP pretty well. Seemingly unconnected, two years ago I developed what was diagnosed as very painful hip bursitis (both sides) when walking - I was a daily 4-5 km walker. The pain steadily worsened to the point I could no longer walk. From about eight months ago, I was literally only able to hobble around the house. In desperation, two months ago, I changed my GP. He couldn't find anything wrong other than the bursitis, but as a last resort - two weeks ago - suggested stopping the candesartan for a few days (it has a short half-life, so the effect would show up within 36-48 hours). Lo and behold!! 48 hours later, I was able to walk freely. The next day, I walked a km and have stepped it up over the last ten days back to an average of 5 km a day. NO PAIN! I have my life back! I now find that back and leg pain are this med's stated number one side effect. I would appreciate having the kinetics explained."

For High Blood Pressure "This pill works well but has bad side effects. Pain in the back of the neck, back, feet, legs, arms, and even fingers. Stomach issues. Anxiety every evening. Palpitations, such as a thumping heartbeat. Dizziness. Tight throat and trouble breathing. Headaches. Ear pain and head congestion. Trouble sleeping. Tinnitus. Itching. All this on just 8mg. Does lower blood pressure from 160/80 to 130/72. Blood pressure rises in the evening for some reason. I am a female aged 73."

For Migraine Prevention "I started Candesartan 2 weeks ago for migraine prevention. It had helped but has caused severe bruising and leg pain, possibly blood clots. I am stopping the 8 mg candesartan immediately under medical advice. Withdrawal symptoms are awful. Almost as bad as migraine."

For High Blood Pressure "I've been on 4 mg for 2 weeks and have had severe headaches, nose bleeds, upper back ache, anxiety, jaw pain, and bloated stomach. I noticed a bit of swelling in my feet. After being off one day, no more symptoms. I've been put back on the Sandoz brand."

For High Blood Pressure "Been on this for quite a while, and problems have increased over that period. I seem to be suffering from all the side effects which are supposed to be relatively uncommon."
