For Opioid Use Disorder "I've been on suboxone for about a year but only took half of the 8mg a day. I heard horror stories its withdrawals are horrible if you take a lot. I wanted to get off them because my sex drive is non existent and I have a boyfriend so thats a big issue . Also they make me sleep long long hours . My days off I could sleep all day if I wanted to, they make me constipated . I'm on day 2 of not taking any. I am withdrawing. Restless nights. Body aches . yawning non stop and nausea but its not unbearable its just annoying. I'm pretty much laying around waiting to feel normal again . Anyone out there that doesn't take the whole strip u guys can get off it its not that bad . Good luck !"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was addicted to any type of pill I could possibly find, from oxycodone to roxy and everything in between. My addiction ruined everything that I held precious to me and it lasted from the time I was 16 till I was 20. I withdrew cold turkey for a week and then finally got put on Suboxone. I was taking 3 8mg strip a day for 2 years. I have finally been off of it for almost a year now. The hardest part was coming off the Suboxone it took me about 6 to 8 months to completely come off of it. And slowly but surely I am now going to be 3 years sober. Suboxone saved my life and gave me everything back that I have ever wanted and more. I would recommend this medicine to anyone who is having problems with addiction. It was truly a God send."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on narco for many years and wanted off. I was put on sublingual suboxone and in 30 minutes felt like a whole new person. It was a huge relief. I took the Suboxone for 1 year then weaned off. Never had any problems."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I banged heroin for 8 years and was on suboxone for 4 years. I fell into the same trap everyone does and had a hard time coming off the Suboxone. When I came off it was pretty much a week of insomnia/RLS nightmare. Week 2 was marginally better, and week three substantially better. My trick was working out (which I was never into). I Cannot stress this enough WORKOUT! Stuff that makes you grit your teeth, like pushups and squats. It makes an absolute huge difference to everything. JUST DO IT! I"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Suboxone was great for getting off of opioids (percocet) and the $100/day habit, but it came with a high price. I was addicted to suboxone now (under doctors care) and we tried 6-7 times to wean me off. IMPOSSIBLE!! And I was a successful business owner who was a work-o-holic and could do almost anything. The insomnia and restless leg drove me back every time. Finally had to go to a medical detox place, RCA to get off this stuff. In the mean time I lost 400k, can't work, have crippling depression and can't focus on stuff. I've been opioid/suboxone free for 7 months now a days guess what?? I'm still a mess. All I can say is don't take that stuff long term. It's BRUTAL to stop..."

For Opioid Use Disorder "To anyone looking to get on Suboxone to overcome opiate addiction - DO IT!! I've been on Suboxone for 15 months now & have gone from 20mg to 2 mgs literally painlessly. The first time I took it I knew within an hr I had found what I needed to get that damn monkey off my back. A slow yet STEADY taper is important. There's no reason a person can't easily drop 2mgs a mo. down to about 4mg. If it's making you sleepy, time to taper! It gets a bit slower once you get lower but still not hard at all. Once you get to about 3mg you almost have an awakening! You get more energy, and start to LOVE music and conversation again. I would say that those are the biggest side effects - sleepiness (taper!), and slight emotional dullness."

For Opioid Use Disorder "After abusing opiates/heroin for 8yrs I got on Suboxone. Since April of 2013 I've tapered from 16mg/day to 1mg a day. I've not relapsed. I've gotten my kids back from state custody. I've gotten a promotion at my job. Mostly, I've got my life back."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I don't understand people staying on this medicine for years. 2 weeks should be enough, It gets you through the withdrawals without causing another addiction. If your really ready to stop using an 1/8 of the strip or pill will be enough, 3 of those should get you off the hard stuff. If your not at a high dose in your addiction, if you swallow your medicine and don't use needles, you can use less, it will make you sick if you are not careful. This is a great way to end your addiction, but be wise, don't start another one."

For Opioid Use Disorder "So I promised the last time when I got off these things I would do a review because I read all the reviews and it scared me! But the first time I was taking subprime for about 6 years so it took me a longer time to tapper but if you tapper slowly you will barely feel anything. You will be uncomfortable and not want to go hang out but you can still eat and things like that. NOTHING like coming off blues or anything that miserable no where near that awful. Only thing if you have something to help you sleep was the hardest only one day though. The next time (yes I’m a dumbass) I’ve been taking for about 6 months but only a quarter so it took me a month to taper and by doing that I was only feeling like rubbish for one day and it wasn’t even that bad. So as long as you taper and don’t come off when your taking a quarter or more you’ll be ok. It was mostly the anxiety about it all that kills you. You can do this! You got this!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Continued: I finally got enough of enough and tried this "so called awesome Suboxone"! The best decision I ever chose! I had surgeries during the 5 yrs on it, which was tricky because I loved the buzz from the pain meds, but I trusted Suboxone to simply take it all away. I completely rebuilt my life in ways that can never be explained, but if you're suffering and hating life, KNOW that there is a better way. All you have to do is ask. I started Suboxone August of 2008, and have been off of it for almost 3 weeks and am doing rather good. I can honestly say I don't want a pill. The time on Suboxone has allowed me to reflect on the bad choices I made, and if there's 1 thing I know, it's I CANNOT LIVE LIKE THAT ANYMORE! God Bless!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was a herion addict for 10yrs and at my rock bottom lost everything, sold everything even my beloved dog just for a bag, sick isnt the word for herion addiction, I had know way out. One got caught stealing cell phones from my family members, I was in jail detoxing thinking I was going to die. Once I got out jail clean I was determined to find a suboxone doctor and I did it was the best choice I have ever made! Now im 2 years clean and suboxone was a important tool and helping me do so! I owe my life to suboxone and it really offends me when people bash the drug because its a true life saving drug!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Well suboxone sure gave me my life back, however with that being said I've been on it 18 and half months, this is my second time coming off it , I feel ready. Problem is I was not told by anybody that runs the program that it is absolutely worse coming off then the drugs you were doing to begin with. The withdrawals are beyond horrible and after 2 and half weeks I was still sick. I just firmly believe as an addict going for help and the rest of us have a right to know all the information, instead I feel mislead, deceived and lied to, but I'll make it and so will all of you. Wish everybody best of luck.."

For Opioid Use Disorder "At the right dosage Suboxone works wonders. I happen to require 24 mg./day, taken all at once and in the evening before bed. That dose covers me completely until the next night. No cravings whatsoever at this dose, heck I don't even crave alcohol. At the right dosage per the individual it does exactly what it claims."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have recently just switched to the yellow pkg suboxone strips. I have taken suboxone for 3 years and it has help me not need opioids ever again !! At first I couldn’t stand the yellow pkg subs, but I was wrong ! They are the best subs in our country !!! Give them a chance if you are someone who feels they are weak ! They will only make you even better than you currently are. I even had written a bad review on the yellow sub strips! I was extremely wrong . Give them a chance guys. Please? They must take some weeks of getting used to . Thanks ."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Let me put to rest the biggest misconception about Suboxone. You've all heard or have said it before. "With Suboxone, I'm just trading one addiction for another." That's WRONG and I'll tell you why. An addiction is a compulsive behavior that we do and continue to do despite HARMFUL CONSEQUENCES. I was addicted to heroin for a couple of years. My life was going down the tubes. I was suffering consequences left and right, but I kept using. Now lets talk about DEPENDENCE. We are dependent on a substance where if we STOP taking it, we will have harmful consequences. A diabetic is dependent on their insulin, if they don't take it they could get very sick. If I stop my Suboxone, I could suffer bad consequences. Kapeesh?"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Been on pills 2 years the complete rat race of another pill and my days and weeks had to be planned accordingly to my stock of pills. You know the drill. Finally I decided I'm not going to live like this anymore. Jail, death or suboxone - I chose suboxone. I waited the required time, I actually waited longer about 38 hours the first 15 min withdrawal gone I was actually very disappointed I thought I would feel a lot better. But after an hour and then 2 hours I felt like I had never had a pain pill in my life. It was the real me again I felt totally normal!!!! WOW I could think clearly and had a great outlook on life If you are considering this drug DO IT!!! It's legal and you will begin to get your life back DO IT!!!!!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "A classic story I started abusing oxy after surgery. Until my body depended on it to function normally to get out of bed I needed to take oxy or my body would be in hell. So the hamster wheel spun and spun. The thing is from the outside looking in you would never know I have a great job I’d like to think I’m a well rounded human I’m a nurse. But addiction doesn’t care what or who you are it will steal your soul. Anyways I just started this medication a few days ago on a very low dose. Initially you wait till you start to feel withdrawal symptoms until you can take half of a dose. Otherwise it will make you go into withdrawal symptoms if you have any drugs in your system. I kind of feel like what’s the catch. The last three days have been really good I feel great I’m on 2mg a day and have to see the doctor daily to get a dose and adjust the mg. If you’re suffering this medication could help you. If you use it properly. Since we are addicts we can misuse things easily."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on deadly drugs for about 5 years. I took like handful of pills with xanax, kpin or other sleeping aids. Remain high for 5 years . After that I always try to be off all drugs. But started again, then stop, start, stop, start. I went to psychiatrist she prescribed me 8 mg daily suboxone. But in first 5 days my heartbeat is up and I was more high than other drugs. But in time I became sober . I never craved for any opioid or even alcohol . Some time I tried to stop this medication but withdrawals are bad then I again start this treatment. But the point is. It is good to take suboxone daily than being on other drugs and take them every hour and crave when out of supply . So it is better to be look and behave normal . So I recommend this medicine for all who want life back . Stay healthy and live normal life. Stay away from other drugs give suboxone one chance it will change your life ways of thinking. Live a legal life. Love it. Love you all wish u happy journey"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I’ve been on subs now for about 10 years. Was on high doses of opiates. I see everyone saying Alvogen doesn’t work for them but I think they’re great. I prefer the name brand and there’s been twice now I couldn’t find them so I had to settle. The alvogen did great however the other brand I was forced to get was Dr. Reddys and it was absolutely awful. It like I couldn’t get enough in me to stop with withdrawals. This month the pharmacies were out again and I ended up with Mylan brand. Anyone have any experience with these?"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Told doc I didn't wanna be on anything I only wanted one suboxone. I agreed two 16mg After 1 year he stated now it will take a year to detox me and I called a detox not satisfied with this answer and the length of the detox. He told me I'm looking at 2 months detox off 16mg and told me to start dropping myself first because I will be sick a long time otherwise. I will admit this year has given me the chance to build my roots in a program, I'm just baffled that no one tells you this medication is meant for harm reduction. Basically so opiates are blocked cravings cease and you're not sick, robbing, stealing and spreading hepatitis c basically. So it's designed for long periods the longer I've been on it the worst the side effects. If you didn't know this medicine also blocks your natural endorphins in your brain as well from sex, working out, chocolate etc. I'm upset I'm not looking forward to this horrible withdrawal off 2 mgs.. ignorance isn't bliss. Wish u all luck in whatever journey you choose."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I just want to share with anyone thinking about using this med. I have been on LOTS of oxycodone ever since my daughter was born 5 years ago. I was always trying to figure out how to get my next batch because I would run out of my script early every month. I loved the way they made me feel at first!! I loved the energy and the happiness I got from them but it only lasted a short time before it was gone and I needed more and more. Then I was always scared of being without because I knew the withdrawals would be hell! So basically, my life was constantly thinking about those oxycodone! I finally got fed up and found a suboxone doc. Been on a week and feel amazing!!DO IT if u have an addiction problem! U won't regret it! It has saved my life!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I recall the beginning, when I foolishly became addicted to pain relievers-and I mean ignorantly. Don't get me wrong-I loved the feeling, I just didn't know that they were physically addicting. After about 8 months of pain relievers, I heard about Suboxone. It was great! Now speed ahead 13 years later, it sucks. I imagine that since I've been on this for so long, it's likely I'll stay on it for life. Godforbid I lose my insurance! But what I really want to say-what makes this really bad, is that now I'm on a generic version and it is GARBAGE! Made by "Alvogen", it is NOTHING like the name brand Suboxone. I'm in pain, I feel lousy, sluggish and it is making my life hell. My next appointment is in two weeks and I'm for going to complain. Only thing is-I heard Suboxone is off the market now.. If so, I guess I'm screwed either way... :("

For Opioid Use Disorder "Its funny how people swear the Sandoz films are exactly the same thing as the regular strips, just in different packaging....smh. This is not true as tons of people who have been on this medicine for 10 years or more are posting reviews telling you this. Do this....take one of each film, regular and generic (Sandoz), and put them in seperate spoons of water and watch how fast the Sandoz film dissolves. Literally seconds VS the regular film will take minutes. Not too mention everyone will tell you they feel different taking them. They most definitely are NOT the same medicine. That is a fact. They might be made at the same place, but they are different and its obvious to the ones like me who have been on this garbage for 10 years or more."
