Go to the pharmacy and tell them you have a UTI and ask them for the OTC meds that will relieve the pain then go to the doctor's to get the necessary lab work done so that they can prescribe the proper antibiotics for what you have. The medication you have is out dated and it may not be for the UTI you have anyway so get something that you know will work.
No way! Unless you want to get sick.
No. Taking old drugs can be very harmful to your health carrying lots of side effects.
I will say absolutely not. It is a tetracycline and that can actually harm you if its old. Do not take it, call your dr.
Before we get to the out of date issues, Doxycycline is not indicated for use in UTI's and probably would not have cleared the infection regardless.
Yes it is very often prescribed for UTIs. I hope to find similar questions to my own with helpful answers. But I hope when someone is speculating instead of actual knowledge they say so in their answer. Also if going to the Dr is absolutely not an option. Crush, must be raw crushed 2-3 cloves garlic 2-3 times a day, drink 1.5 gallon of water a day evenly spread out during The day. Take otc Azo for pain relief. This will work but nothing will give you imediate relief other than the ER or Dr. If this clears up and returns or you have often. See a Dr. Also Browse the causes and preventions of uti s and the use of raw garlic as natural substitute. I know this is outdated for this question but may help others.
Actually.. it is not a commonly used antibiotic for UTIs. It is more often used to treat infections like staph found in wounds or acne causing bacteria, etc. Not to say it's never used for UTIs but the previous comment was not incorrect. Self diagnosing is never smart but I'm sure most of us are guilty of it from time to time. I believe the biggest problem with using expired drugs is their potency and most likely won't be strong enough to fight off the infection well enough or have the desired outcome. Faster though maybe not easier to just see or contact your physician.
Never take out of date med's, they are to old, I don't think they will help you a any, call your Doctor maybe he could call something in for you.
You may need a cripo. drink a lot of fluids.
