How can you tell if Wellbutrin XR pills have got old and are not safe to take? I have taken them off and on a few times over the years; they kept giving me anxiety, but recently my doc prescribed me gabapentin for anxiety and it's working so well. I decided I would give the Wellbutrin another shot. I broke one in half and it's kinda gooey inside... well... it's more like just the same texture all the way through, it's sort of strange. I've never cut one up before so I have nothing to go by from experience. Thanks in advance. Love this site.
I'm wondering how long Wellbutrin pills are good for? I have a bottle from an old prescription?

Isabella,
It sounds like the pills have deteriorated and lost their potency and effectiveness. This happens with age and depends partly on how the medication was stored.
I wouldn't bother taking them.
How much gabapentin do you take for anxiety. My Dr has me up to 3 times day 300mg.Helps some but think it needs raised.
300mg 3 times a day as well. I am also prescribed klonopin though which of course is what really works. The gabapentin is a new prescription that my doc added. So yes, if gabapentin is all you can have, I believe you can ask for up to 400mg 4 times a day... maybe more, depends on your doctor of course. Good luck with this, anxiety can be such a horrible thing to live with. Best wishes to you.
