I have had Covid complications and have been experiencing issues for 5 weeks. during that time i stopped sleeping (did not sleep for 3 days). my doctor prescribed me some temazepam. the issue is that it takes 90 mg to get me some sleep. i feel that this has led to some pretty uncontrollable anxiety. he also started me on Paxil (been on it 5 days). i feel that I am constantly in a state of panic and cannot control my thoughts or relax even for a second. frustrated that this has started and not sure how to get myself out of this mess
Will Paxil kick in and relieve my sleep anxiety, and should I stick it out with the Restoril?

Paxil is a good choice for treating anxiety disorders. It will roughly take about 4-6 weeks for Paxil to take full effect. It also depends on your metabolism and how much dose your taking. Some people may experience effects sooner than others. Few week on Paxil it may cause increase in anxiety, drowsiness, nausea etc. Don’t get discourage these side effects are usually common and should subside within a couple of weeks once you continue taking the medication until your body gets adjusted. Hang in there for a bit, you’ll feel better soon.
