My doctor prescribed it to help me sleep, but it says it is also used to treat anxiety. I'm wondering what would happen if it was taken during the day.
Can Restoril/Temazepam be taken during the daytime? Or should it ONLY be used right before bed?

Your doctor would probably have a better suggestion than doing that. it might stop woking at night if you take it too much during the day Good Luck I hate that feeling with anxiety I take Ativan for it Good luck with this hope it helped some Barb
i haven't taken it yet and was only going to take it if i couldn't sleep. i was just curious as to what effects it has. specifically, doesn't it mellow you out, or knock you out? :)
it will do both. you will be tired as a result of your brain activity actualy slows down when you take this drug. Hense why its good for anxiety AND sleep
I take 30mg so I believe if taken during the day I would be zombiefied. For daytime anxiety control i recommend clonazepam. Lasts longer than Xanax so you take fewer = good thing. Something to ask your psychiatrist about.
Good luck!
It could be of benefit. I would recommend taking to your doctor about it first before changing the way that it's prescribed to you. He or she may want to prescribe you something else for anxiety first before using the medications you mentioned. He or she may try a different Benzodiazepine instead of Temazepam. Talk to your doctor about it and see what he or she thinks you should do. Good luck to you. I hope you get the help you need to control your anxiety which I know is a painful condition. Hope this helps. Good luck!
