If you are currently seeing a pain mangement doctor, but having to drive so far, see if your insurance reimburses you for transportation. Some do. If not you can goggle pain doctors in the area you are seeking & then call their offices & explain your situation. Usually you can feel them out about prescribing meds. Some don't want to prescribe anything except ER tablets because of the new FDA laws concerning writing pain scipts. Good luck & let us know how you come out...
dridupinky, so it looks as if you had a pain manageent dr, what happen to that one? did you go outside of the contract and him/her drop you as a patient? you know my famous words are go for a emergency room visit, then while there ask the dr thats treating you for a list of names that are good pain drs. you can alos google it in your area and call around, you will find one, good luck and hope that things get better
If she does this by going to the emergency room, she will lose her pain management doctor she has now because of breaking the contract. If she can find a new doctor & go to him/her she can start a new contrct & negate the old one all in one step...
