I have a bottle of Wellbrutrin XL that I was prescribed years ago that expired in 2012. I never took it because I was scared of the side effects. Now the my depression is worse I really need it and I can't wait until May (which is how soon I can schedule to see my doc) to get a new prescription. Please let me know if you think it is safe to take? And of course by safe I mean outside of any normal side effects/reactions someone might have from taking Wellbrutrin that has expired.

You need to wait to see your doctor and get a new script. Try walking, exercising, any kind of movement really helps with depression especially walking at least until you can get in to see your doctor. I wish you the best.

While the medication is likely fine. I agree with the rest here you should never start any such medication unless you are under they supervision of a doctor. Antidepressants are not like some pain pill you can take and get happy, this is a process. See your doctor and make a plan to address your depression.
