I am taking 5mg of Buspar twice a day and now my doctor is adding Viibryd daily 10 mg. Is it safe and how far apart should I take the Viibryd from the Buspar?
Viibryd and Buspar medication question?

Hi, AWeek!
I don't even want to give you this link because when many people read about drug interactions they ASSUME that it will happen to them even though a condition may be a rare (and treatable) one. You're going to see a warning about serotonin syndrome. It is rare and treatable in the early stages. You should be aware of the symptoms just in case. Doctors are aware of this POTENTIAL interaction but the combination of antidepressant and anxiolytic is very common. In most cases the risk is far outweighed by the benefit to you.

It generally takes about a full day for 50% of your Viibryd dose to leave your system so you really can't avoid an overlap.
Just for the record, I've not taken Viibryd but I've been on several antidepressants and BuSpar for years with no problem
So, be alert but don't think you should stop taking the medications.
If you still have questions or concerns please feel free to comment again.

Could´nt have answered it better, specially when you mention "the wait", of course the half-life!
