Venlafaxine XR Side Effects?

Thank you, I guess it's still early days as only on day 14. I was direct switched from citalopram to venlafaxine. I've only had a bit of nausea and shakiness but the not getting enough sleep is setting me back. I hate taking meds so always worry when my head starts feeling weird. Would love to keep in touch xx

I hate taking meds too. I just want this to work for me so badly. I was on citalopram too which for some reason stopped working I dont know why? Some people have said it takes 8 weeks to feel full benefits xx

I was on citalopram years ago for depression which is why the gave it to me again but after 4 weeks the side effects were still horrendous so they switched me..I just want it to work so I can feel better again, I really hate feeling like this.

I know how you feel. Can you ask for 15mg Mirtazapine to take at night to make you sleep? I know it’s another drug but it does help. I have not been the same since my citalopram stopped working. I only had a mild anxiety nothing to write home about. But they increased my dose and it made me so ill xx

I only have mild anxiety as well and like you when they increased the citalopram I felt very ill like I was being poisoned. The Dr has prescribed 12.5mg of quetiapine to help with sleep when I need it.

That sounds exactly the same that happened to me. I was ok on 20mg but my dog died and they put it up and it went downhill after that. I had only ever been on 10 or 20mg for 15 years and was fine.

I was increased from 10mg up to 20mg, it was a horrible sensation.

When you increased to75mg of venlafaxine did you get side effects again? How many weeks after starting did you increase? Xx

I was on 37.5 for about a week then up to 75. I don’t know much about these meds only what I read and sometimes you don’t know what to believe. People like to put their horror stories on more than success stories. I think some people do well on 37.5. I am so hoping I don’t have to go higher than 75mg xx

I was meant to have increased to 75mg yesterday but will probably wait until I see Dr again in 2 weeks. I'm kinda hoping that 37.5mg is enough for me xx

I did give my details to add as a friend on FB but I think they didn’t allow the msg. I am so hoping I don’t have to go higher than 75mg. Maybe I am hoping for too much at 6 weeks. Have any side effects gone?
