I used the IR Venlafaxine last year 37.5mg morning and night with great success but stupidly came off thinking I was well!!! I started like you 37.5mg XR for a week and then went up to 75mg and take it every morning. I’m now waking up with anxiety in my tummy/nervousness and have it for about 2 hours before the XR kicks in. I’m only 2 weeks in but thinking of going back to the IR as it seemed to work better. Or am I being hasty?
I don’t know, I’m sorry. I would talk to your Doctor. I just know that it’s not slow enough for me to come down 37.5 at a time. Withdrawals are horrible - the worst! My son also got off Desvenlafaxine last April and it took 4 months of withdrawals to get off. His doc was nice enough to give him Ketamine lozenges to help with symptoms and it really helped!
My advice is, unless you have no other choice than those meds, to STAY OFF of both of them! Find something else!!
I would def let your doctor know about it. I know I’m very sensitive to meds and I have to increase my medication more slowly than others. This may have been too big a jump for you. You could go back to the previous dose that you were on And wait till your body settles down. and then maybe increase it more slowly if that’s what your doctor recommends. When I get jittery from increasing my medicine, I take a day off from it. But I don’t think I’ve ever been shaking. Just very jittery so I will definitely tell your doctor about it. Hope you feel better soon.
