I’ve been on Valium for about 3 years now but still suffer really bad anxiety. My psychiatrist wants to put me on lorazepam. If anyone has some advice or have been on both what is best?
Valium or lorazepam? Which is better for anxiety?

Hello
Both are benzos but have different 1/2 lives (the time they remain in your system).
Id take your doctors advice and try them. Only as needed though.
I take Xanax which is a very fast acting benzo with a short 1/2 life.
Best regards
Kevin
Thanks everyone for your advice and support

Hi, Roboshark!
Everybody responds differently to medications so the only answer I can give is that the best one is the one that is most effective for you.
Since your Valium isn't working I'd follow your doctor's advice and try the lorazepam.
Best regards and best of luck to you.
Do you need a quick working medication? I have anxiety that won’t quit and do not like to quell it with with a pill, but I’ve done everything else advised with no luck. My GP has prescribed clonazepam .25mg PRN. I usually need it in the morning and around late afternoon. It does take 30 minutes or more to kick in but lasts longer than the other Benzodiazepines.
