I tried Trintellix for the first time today and was violently ill and vomited it up after 15 minutes

Is this normal? I had gastric sleeve 2 years ago and have had an incredibly delicate stomach since then.
I read the instructions and it didn't say it had to be taken with food so I took it first thing in the morning with a few other meds. 15 minutes later I had the most violent reaction to something I have eaten in my life. None of the other meds listed as interactions other than Lithium for serotonin issues, but this was too quick to be that interaction.
Reading all the comments about nausea here, seems like it might be pretty common, but it are people vomiting with the nausea or does it normally pass

Hi, eaglepigjim! "Very common (10% or more of users): Nausea (up to 42%) Common (1% to 10% of users): Vomiting" Vomiting is a little less common than nausea alone but it is a side effect. They generally resolve within days to a week or so but let your doctor know this happened. You can ask your friend, the pharmacist/chemist, to recommended an OTC remedy that doesn't interact with the medication. A product called Emetrol worked very well for me and there are several others. Try eating small snacks of very bland foods like soda crackers, yogurt, ginger ale or tea. As Klonopinkid suggested any form of ginger will probably help.

It is very common to have an upset stomach it took me like 3 weeks to not get it all the time. Tips are take it with a spoon of peanut butter or use crystalized ginger chews. If you throwing up though and your not to far into taking it, I'd probably move to another drug. It has never made me vomit.
