Just curious
Hello bossone. It really depends upon the drug screen/test itself. Its not a controlled substance, and unlikely it will show up only because its not a CNS drug or Benzodiazepine etc and will most probably not be screening for it. Regards, pledge
It shows up as benzo
YES, trazodone or desyrel WILL show up in Urine tests within 3 days. trazodone is broken down hepatically and voided from the body 80% bowel movement and 20% urine. HOWEVER, it is one of the drugs they routinely scan for as it is an anti depressant and sleep inducement, also used for panic attacks, so as a mood altering drug that has been on the market since the 60's, many doctors are returning to it for use with Chronic pain as a new study was released in the 90's showing chronic pain is one of the main reasons the brain develops chemical changes and is more "depressed" as pain tolerance is built over time. More doctors are writing for it lately than used to.
I wouldnt think it would because its not part of the 5 panel tests or the 9 panel tests, i think you will be fine. im no expert, just pretty experienced in medicine. But im not perfect.
I would think if they sent it off to a lab to look for trazodone in the body they could find it but not a regular test.
As with any chemical/drug/poison/substance, yes, if they're looking for it. You're right, standard tests do not test for it. That's why they ask you what meds you take.
All you need to do is to take the prescription in and show it to the person who is conducting the drug test as long as it is prescribed for you, there will be no problems.
I am very sure that trazodone will show up in a drug test.
Trazodone is an antidepressant medication. It is thought to increase the activity of one of the brain chemicals (serotonin) which may become unbalanced and cause depression.
Trazodone is used to treat depression. It may also be used for relief of anxiety disorders (eg, sleeplessness, tension) and chronic pain.
