Hey Isaacbear - always eat something before or with taking the tramadol and you should be fine. Never take it on an empty stomach. If you start to feel nauseous after taking eat quick and it will go away. At least that’s what has always worked for me.
I also would wake up 4 hours after taking Tramadol (150 mg) and get sweaty and vomit about 8 times before the episode would cease and i'd go back to sleep. My doctor gave me hydromorphone instead, but I thought there must be another way!
I didn't vomit for the first 25 doses of Tramadol, but then it became a consistent thing. I finally took 2 Health Concerns Stomach Tabs along with the Tramadol and I have never vomited again. I wish the pharmaceutical and CAM worlds could come together more -- maybe I'd be hooked on hydromorphone by now if I hadnt invented a solution. Health Concerns Quiet Digestion would also work, as would the Chinese Patent herbal called Po Chai.
Hi i had this reaction when i first started taking Tramadol. Personally i was able to sleep it off most of the time, feeling better the next day. Everybody is different obviously and Masso has given you the correct guidelines, i just wanted to offer a bit of hope that you may be feeling better sooner...
Common tramadol side effects may include:
headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tired feeling;
constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain; or
feeling nervous or anxious.
itching, sweating, flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling).
Make sure to maintain yourself hydrated.
The SE should subside in a week to 10 days if ihas not contact your DR.

Thank you Masso - I'm hoping it doesn't take that long to feel better, I only took one dose :-) but thank you for your advice and info I appreciate it
You are very welcome and I truly wish you feel better soon.
