Dr has told me to take these together. I have gallstones and I'm worried all these pain killers will damage my liver has anyone else been given all these together? I also take buscopan an anti acid and sertraline
Is it safe for me to take tramadol, codeine paracetamol & ibuprofen together to relieve pain?

Well, all of these drugs do relieve pain, some of them in different ways. Tramadol and codeine are both opioid pain relievers and with these, I would say to choose one or the other. Ibuprofen will help relieve pain and inflammation. Is the codeine and paracetamol together in one pill? I would take the ibuprofen then choose which ever works better, the codeine/paracetamol or tramadol and leave it at that until you can have surgery. You can still take the anti-acid and sertraline too.

In the US, you would already be in surgery as soon as they found you had stones. I would bet my bottom dollar you have government run healthcare dont you?

I'm in the uk and I have basically been told surgery can be as far away as 2-3 months I'm constantly doubled up in pain and due to suffering from depression and anxiety too this don't help as I'm missing appt to see psyc and councillors !! It's all about funding I think :(

Hiya, I've just been given, tramadol, codeine, paracetamol and cyclazine for gallstones, does seem a lot but I can feel benefits, feel a but woozy but I expected that! Hope u get ur op soon xxx

I am day 5 after a tonsillectomy and am in severe pain. Surgery wasn't straight forward and took 1.5hrs to control bleeding on one side. The pain is excruciating in my throat, ear, jaw. I was prescribed, and am taking 100mg tramadol 6hourly, Panadol and nurofen 6 hourly and codeine 15mg 4 hourly. And I'm still in pain! I'm coping with the drugs ok but am aware that I am on a max dose of everything. Fingers crossed day 6 is better. Every day so far has got worse :(

Very concerned that DzooBaby said someone in the States would get surgery immediately for gallstones. What state do you live in and what insurance do you pay for? My cousin's 's cleaner in Virginia had no insurance and was waiting over a year to get surgery -- eventually my cousin paid toward it. The point is that in the UK we have to wait longer but everybody gets it, not just people who earn enough money to pay for expensive insurance.

It truly seems to me they could manage pain relief with one or two. I've never seen so many pain meds given together. Is this what they gave you for the stones? I can see how all those may be ordered to take at different times, one for mild pain, one for moderate, get the pic? But all those at the same time is just ridicules.
