Klonopin manufactured by Teva is no longer available. I spoke with the manufacturer and they said they are now replacing it with Actavis.
My pharmacy replaced Teva with Accord and Accord is not working. I have been on it for a month and it's like taking a sugar pill. It's as effective as Mylan.
What can I take that's similar to Teva? This is awful.
That sounds like a question only your doctor can really answer. Now while you are waiting for your appointment I'd ask that question to my pharmacy for suggestion so you can then tell him those suggestion. That will probably help him after considering your issues and other meds to see if one of those suggestion might just work. It's good to use all options that know you.

I'm confused. I've been on Klonopin for about 5 years for treatment of chronic anxiety, and I just filled my prescription on 3/19/21 at CVS. It is most definitely TEVA. This is somewhat of a concern, because I don't want to get "leftovers" from the pharmacy if the TEVA brand has indeed been discontinued. Could it be that certain dosages of the TEVA brand are no longer available? I'm on 0.5 mg. Can someone shed some light on this?

Hi people I just filled my prescription today and was given green teva brand 1 mg like I use to get a few years ago so I think there back making them . I didn’t even ask I thought it would be the usual r34 activist but nope it’s green says teva one side and 834 on other. The insert said it’s manufactured in Czech Republic

I agree, Kmj523. I now take the 0.5mg TEVA (old formula that was brought back again) and this is how I know it's the same formula from back then. Besides the fact that they have made my anxiety 100% better since coming off of the ACTIVIS/Teva brand, I used to get a bit of reflux in my throat if I didn't take the old TEVA with enough water. I have gotten it twice since I've been on the TEVA. So, yes, it is absolutely the same "old TEVA" as before they started pushing out that ACTIVIS/Teva JUNK! The ACTIVIS/Teva brand completely made me nonfunctional. I was practically bedfast, cried all day, I had horrible symptoms. Happy to be back on the old TEVA again! I'm once again enjoying time with my family and doing much much better! :)

I’m glad to hear some positivity on the new brand. I got scared from other comments and filled my monthly with Actavis which I know eventually won’t be an option. Are the inactive ingredients listed on the new brand? I just wanna be sure they’re identical. And lastly, if you switched from Actavis is there any dosage adjustments you need to make when switching to Teva? I always took 2 and a half .5 mg, kept the larger half and threw the smaller away, my goodness when Teva was discontinued all I could think of was all those halves I threw out.

I just got my refill 3 days ago and I feel so much better. They are the same as before, possibly a little more powerful because I fall asleep faster on them but that may just be an adjustment issue. I take the .5 and the first day I got that serene feeling and have been sleeping great, the anxiolytic effects are far greater than the depressogenic effects unlike the Actavis which was far more depressing. I’m so glad they are back so Klonz, I wouldn’t worry about it. Once you fill it, share your experience. I’ll post back in a week when the Actavis will fully be out of my system but so far so good.

I feel whole again, no more Actavis, no more drug wearing off after 3-4 hours, no more fragmented sleep, no more waking up w withdrawal waiting for night to take more, no more hangover mornings. It’s the same as before. If it worked for you before, then it will work
I made the transition from TEVA clonazepam 1mg (green) to ACTIVIS brand in March. Everything went downhill from there. I steadily got worse, having horrible panic attacks. I ended up back on the "old" new TEVA 1mg (green) in September. I have never been able to take a whole pill at once but I was able to break the old TEVA in half because it was scored. Now it's not. I went from September until last night breaking the "new" green unscored TEVA's in half, which I was not getting dosed properly but had to do so until I picked up my 0.5 mg TEVA (yellow with score) yesterday. Started them this morning. So far, I feel a little weird, mostly a little nauseated (just took it an hour ago) but it's probably just me, as I do not like taking new medications, I don't like change. But the ACTIVIS brand that TEVA Pharmaceuticals were putting out were truly doing something to me in a BAD way.
I have gotten better on the green TEVA but since it wasn't scored, it just wasn't safe for me to break it in half and expect to get the proper dose. Praying this 0.5 gets me where I need to be! (Please note that I DO report all side effects to my doctor and TEVA Pharmaceuticals, as I let them know the ACTIVIS brand made my panic and anxiety worse.)

Yes this is happening to me and to other people as well, The old version was made in Israel now it’s being made in Czech republic then re-launch is horrible some people are referring to it as rat poison, since I’ve been taking it for about a month or two now I’ve had extreme panic and anxiety I feel like I’m losing my mind I don’t feel good at all none of the things that I had to deal with wall taking the old formula before they started all the stuff the only thing that we can do at this point is to keep complaining consistently every single day so that someone hears us out because this is not fair to live like this I am losing my life from this

Zinniaz they are the same for me as well! Work better than the Actavis! I'm thankful TEVA decided to relaunch the old TEVA formula. I had very nasty side effects when they were putting out the Actavis brand. Here's to all of us feeling better!
They actually have started the process of reintroducing their original generic due to an overwhelming amount of requests.
They have to now get them to distributors, and the TEVA rep said there’s just a few technical processes that take some time for them to get to shelves. But basically they are making them again.
AND ACCORD IS ABSOLUTE PURE S#1t that is a fact. Absolutely unacceptable and i encourage anybody who has been negatively affected by accord including suffering form WD , then please please fill out the report to the FDA, it’s online and it doesn’t take long.
Accord needs to be investigated; it is not bio equivalent despite what anyone claims. Everyone’s different, and I’m sure there’s many people who have no issue with accord.
For those of us who actually have a tolerance, an overwhelming majority of people are suffering through this inadequate medication.
And To whomever said “generics are equal it’s just placebo “ sorry but you have no idea what you're talking about . - I don’t know who mentioned it I’m not directing this to the original poster either.
But anyway, until I can get TEVA, I actually got anxiety relief from Qualtist generic.

Look up the FDAs orange book. It shows all the companies who make what drug and The equivalence. AA means its active and inactive are the same as The deal brand name. AB means the active is the same but bioequivalence and absorption of the drug isn't as great as brand. I seen the new tevas and have them right in front of me. Tevas old split ones were AA as these ones are AB.

That’s just it they didn’t bring back the old formula the “old formula“ that they recently re-launched is just The same if not worse than the other generic brands that they had out recently honestly I think it’s worse I feel like I’m losing it a lot of people I know we’re going through the same situation and are bedridden now because they can’t even move their whole bodies hurt muscles hurt everything, all you can do is please as many people as it takes keep calling the one 800 number to tether and complain about the quality they say that it’s the same ingredients but it’s not something is severely wrong.. It’s being made in a completely different country now and I think that they changed how it was before so just be aware it can get very scary

They are the exact same and I’m so so so so so thankful. My social anxiety goes COMPLETELY away with these. The others took about 4 just to get moderate anxiety relief and never fully helped the social anxiety . The original TEVAs do. And whomever is claiming they are not good anymore - I can’t understand how that is true because it’s not true at all for me. Period point blank, they are EXACTLY LIKE the original!!!
Also, I know what the commenter means regarding the reflux feeling !!! It’s so weird it’s like a minty type of relux feeling and I always would feel if I didn’t swallow enough water along with it. I’m so glad someone else mentioned that.
Anyway, please don’t listen to the random fear mongering. They are perfectly fine.
Today, Sep 17, 2019 I called TEVA at the toll free number listed by one of the posters above in 2018. I am happy to report that according to customer service at TEVA, the TEVA klonopin has been reintroduced by TEVA and they already have the .5mg and 1 mg on the market! THANK YOU TEVA! The one made by Actavis/Teva is not the same as the old green round TEVA 1 mg. Keep calling them and maybe all the pharmacies will carry the TEVA tablet. Unfortunately, the new 1 mg is not scored. Again, thanks to TEVA for listening.

I had Super 1 Pharmacy order 2mg clonazepam for me, i was calling around trying to find something other then Accord. I started on Accord 3 yrs ago. I haven't had the opportunity to try different generics. They said they didn't even have 2mg in stock, i asked him if Teva was available to order for the generic. Since they stocked Accord .5 and 1mg. He ordered them and they have them. I can't pick it up until Tuesday morning. I'm hopeful after thoroughly investigating people's experiences with clonazepam. That since I'm clearly going to be on clonazepam for a long time, I'd like to be consuming the best quality medication possible. After 3 yrs of Accord I'm no longer sleeping all the way through the night. Im on 6mg a day. 4mg should be good enough at night to keep me asleep. I feel like Accord just isn't working anymore like it used to. And I've only been at 6mg for 2 months. 4mg at bedtime for years.
It just stopped working one month. Like it was a different pill. I've always tested positive for benzos. From day one. Still do. Im really looking forward to see if i get the 834 teva or if it's actavis. The pharmacist says the bottle says Teva pharmaceuticals. I'll let you know the morning after next if they gave me teva 2mg clonazepam.

Also, honestly I wouldn’t file any more complaints with the FDA, if something goes wrong and they get sued or fined, Teva may discontinue the production of Clonazepam altogether, just a thought.

I don’t know of anyone mentioning to file complaint with the fda?

I did and so did several others. The funny thing, I got a call from Teva asking me a bunch of questions and afterwards they said they’d investigate it and send the results to the FDA. So they’re allowed to police themselves. It’s like the police having a warrant to search your house for drugs and instead calling first and asking you to look around and tell them if you see any and taking your word for it. So shady, no oversight.
I just put in a call to TEVA customer service to try to get the old clonazepam back.
Nothing has worked as well as TEVA for me. Spent $300 for brand name Roche (made in Mexico) and have to take double the dose compared to TEVA with more jitteriness.
Has anyone found something that works? Another benzo? I’d encourage everyone to call TEVA customer service too

I switched to diazepam it helped a lot better I had very bad reactions to other generics of Klonopin. I tried Teva clonazepam ODT two months ago I became very ill as I had taken it before just not at the dose I needed. Teva swears that it was their formula used for the ODT of clonazepam. I don’t know if it was the fact it was a higher dose tablet or a different formula since, I was fine beforehand I began having memory issues I didn’t have before on Teva Brand either. I went back to diazepam last month and began to taper down. Good luck Muse

Muse,
I’ve seen you on here a lot and appreciate your opinion. I too have tried many different generics of clonazepam (and brand) and none of them are working well.
I had thought about trying diazepam too due to the long half life. Are u taking TEVA brand diazepam? In what way does it make you feel different from TEVA clons? Thanks so much.

FYI I’ve done some internet digging and TEVA ODT is actually made by Barr pharmaceuticals-I think it’s a different formulation than the TEVA pills... also, are you both planning to stay on diazepam?

I wrote a long detailed comment and the webpage crashed. I am taking teva diazepam even though I felt better on DAN when I was in the medical hospital my pharmacy wouldn’t order a different generic even though, Teva owns most of them the pharmacy only contacts with certain ones... I feel diazepam works faster I feel calmer and more stable I am able to drive and leave the house without hyperventilating. I used to be able to take less and wean off completely rather quickly in the past. On teva diazepam I need to go up to 80mg in order to function I didn’t ever need to be on that dose. I used to be able to skip doses without any issues and wean down rather quickly- it’s been difficult but, I went from 80mg to 15mg. On DAN diazepam I felt it worked better very quickly and lasted a lot longer as I was able to take half of what I was on with Teva.
I would choose diazepam over the bad generics of clonazepam that are out now- any day. I’m done with clonazepam I suffered enough this past year... I hope that you find what helps you best find relief. Be well Muse

Muse,
I really really appreciate your input. TEVA clonazepam was a miracle drug for me and I too am fed up with all of these other clonazepam generics. They all make me feel like I just had a cup of coffee (not tranquilizing at all) and I’m really fed up too.
Have been thinking about diazepam for some time due to its long half life... I really need that calm/ok feeling back and I’m hopeful diazepam can give that too me. Again, I really really appreciate your input and I’m so glad your feeling better
