Yes it's true. I went to my Pharmacy today and they said Teva is done - they bought out Actavis. My Pharmacy only has 230 pills left of theTeva brand. I have been on TeVa for 5 years now and I'm scared to go to another brand I have tried mylan which was the worst ever are there any other good brands out there that are like Teva or should I just try to get on the brand name but that is going to be very expensive should I just try getting on Xanax or what I am very scared right now thank you for your input

“The yellow one’s, say’s Teva on front and has a score on the back, but it say’s 832 on the back is half of 1 MG.
I believe they work the same because mine say’s 99 V on front and doesn’t have a score on the back or no numbers and it’s half of 1 MG.”
and the green one’s that say’s Teva on front!
and has a score on the back and say’s in the back 833 is 1 MG Klonopin they all are klonopins…
I think they all work the same!!! ”
UPDATE: As of 27 December 2019 my CVS will still only fill 2mg white Accord pills. I've been on these almost a year now so i am used to them but they will never compare to original green 833 Teva's. My pharmacy won't special order. Oh well not a big deal now that i'm used to the Accords. Will probably make it easier to taper off of because they are so weak. At this point they are basically just keeping me out of withdrawal and the fact that the DEA is probably going to start going after benzo once this "opiate crisis" has been dealt with it should be easier to get off with Accord because I feel they aren't as potent as other brands. Let me know what you guys think the best brand around now is.
I’m with you re: getting off these drugs. Took low dose old Teva for almost 20 years until it was discontinued. Began taking ODT formula which acted so differently in my body- took way longer for it to leave my system. Anyway I literally can’t take all of this med switching. I never thought I’d say this but am gonna try to wean off!
Accord seems to be the weakest of the bunch! I've been on 2mg white Accord and Activas clonazepam in the past year and I have to say that Activas seems stronger than Accord. Although, I really don't like comparing generics because my head starts playing tricks on me so I tell myself that Generic or Brand name klonopin is going to help me either way EQUALLY.
Now though I am on these TEVA 833 green 1mg clonazepam pills. If I were you I would go to a different pharmacy and ask for TEVA or Activas, and if you cannot do that, try and have your prescribing doctor write on the prescription.."TEVA BRAND ONLY" or "ACTIVAS BRAND ONLY"... Then they have no choice, allegedly.
Glad to see people agree with me. I have tried almost all of them or close to that. I used to have my doctor write teva brand only at walgreens now at CVS they won't honor that so I'm on white 2mg Accords and there is no head change at all just anxiety relief and maybe some sleep relief as i tend to sleep better on the days I take my klonopin. I still feel that the DEA will try to stop or limit the use of benzos in the near future so we all have to deal with the burden of getting off them probably. I used to take up to 9mg Klonopin a day. Got to the point I said this is ridiculous and tapered down by myself without a doctor. when they say always do it under a doctors guidance thats really not true unless you are running out of pills. i had plenty and slowly tapered and was fine. I do not use benzos recreationally anymore either i have a family member give them to me when i need them and i feel no desire to get that high feeling anyways.
i wish i was actually not put back on them oh well at least i'm not a daily user and have gone up to 72 hours without klonopin and wasnt in withdrawal yet. it has a really long half life but i was still surprised i could make it that far and feel OK.
I was having the same problem someone told that teva was making the 0. 5 klonopin again so I called teva and they started making the 0. 5 and 1 mg again around two months ago I called my pharmancy and they said they can order it for me getting my refill next week hope this helps.
So I just dropped from 4mg to 3.5mg of Clonazepam a day as part of my taper plan to get off Klonopin in a year. I was taking two 2mg White Activas/Accord a day depending on the month I got Activas or Accord. I had heard a rumor through the net that TEVA brand Clonazepam had been discontinued, but after dropping to 1mg pills a couple days ago and refilling the script I was surprised to see the pharmacist handed me a bottle of TEVA brand 1mg. They were the TEVA 833 green 1mg pills I hadn't seen in YEARS!!!
So this is where the problem starts. Everywhere I go online to look at the pill identification I see the Green TEVA 833 pill but IT IS SCORED! It's SCORED with an 833 on one side with TEVA written on the other. My pills on the other hand are NOT scored; only TEVA and 833 in the middle of the other side of the pill.
Is this TEVA's attempt at bringing the 833 green 1mgs back? The prescription was filled on the 20th of December, 2019.
I wish I could show a picture. They are the TEVA 833s just no score anywhere on the actual pill.
Teva Brand Brand Klonopin are back at CVS. They no longer have the score line. Will update if they still work as well.
I don't feel that they work the same :(
How are you feeling about this?? I started about 5 or 6 days ago and this doesn't seem to be the same as the old formula IMO. It makes me feel extremely sedated. The euphoria is NOT there... I thought maybe my body needed time to adjust, but I am really thinking they had to of changed something about it because I had 2 left over Teva from before and I took 1/2 about a month ago and it was NIGHT AND DAY difference. I instantly felt better (normal) again. I am just at a loss and do not understand any of this...
How are they working ? I just got the 0.5mg they look the same but made in Czech republic but I'm terrified to try them I hate anxiety
How are they working for everyone they have the same inactive ingredients I got the sheet from the pharmacy beside the 1 mg is not scored 0.5 is scored any update on if the 0.5mg works ? I just got mine
I don't feel like I have been taking them long enough to say for sure. I plan to give it some time to really get it into my system and the Activas has a chance to get out of my system. I felt extremely sedated the first 2 days and now it isn't as bad. To me they are better than the Activas. Everyones body chemistry is different but I am not getting the euphoric feeling nowhere nearly as strong as the old formula Teva... but again I am going to give it time. Good luck to you!
Thank you for your honest input I was lucky enough to have some 0.5 teva left over I have never taken the actavis but scared to change dont want to have seizures or a panic attack I take them for panic disorder 0.5mg 2 times a day and I also take 20mg of lexapro do you feel it's getting better
I am not sure. Honestly, I think I do great if I do not mix it with caffeine. If I have any caffeine it seems to cause me to feel like I can't get a good deep breath. I had a Med Dr. Pepper today and I swear I was fine until after I drank it. I am going to just go back to water and stay away from caffeine and see how that works. So far the "new" Teva is working fine. I am not having anxiety, or body convulsions. It is doing the job as far as that goes. I know many people will say your body doesn't need time to adjust but I was on the Activas for almost a year and it took my body about 5 months to truly become adjusted. I think it has to do with the chemicals in the brain. The Activas at first made me very sedated, then I was ok but it didn't cut my anxiety for long enough so I had to up my dose. I still had some bad side effects too. So... time will tell with this new Teva. I pray over time I will be able to feel the effects of it once my body levels it out.
Do you take the 0.5mg or the 1mg anyone else have any input also I'm gonna try them tonight
I take 1mg and it has made me feel great today.
@kee33 that is very good news I'm so happy they are working for you I'm going to start the 0.5mg tonight , like I said before I never ran out of it but since it's made somewhere else I hope it's the same this medication is not something to mess with it
You guys are lucky you can at least get them I was the one who started this thread and ironically I cannot get them at my CVS pharmacy
has anyone taken the 0.5 mg of the new release Teva of clonazepam and how is it working i never ran out of the 0.5mg because i was lucky i never had to switch to actavis because i drove everywhere to find left overs do you all think i should be fine or is anyone taking the new ones that feel if they work or dont work just looking for some info Thanks everyone
i took my first dose of 0.5 yesterday and had a panic attack but it was more due to me working myself up i do feel its a bit different the the original but not much i feel better today this is only my second dose of it that i took at noon so ill keep everyone posted has anyone else have input on the 0.5mg of the new Teva
Just to let everyone know I have been on 0.5mg of the new teva and they work just fine no different from before at least for me I have been on it front days now and no issues
Good to know they're working great for you. Might have to try them for a few months and see if i like em.
Solco has the original Qualitest clonazepam with the cursive V logo i hear those are great, just fyi for those that are having a hard time with the new Teva formula. Also Northstar clonazepam is the old Sandoz clonazepam, it's inactive ingredients don't look great though. Also i have only tried Accord (trash trash) and Actavis which im still taking. I actually wouldn't mind trying a month of Solco 2mg clonazepam. Solco bought Qualitest clonazepam. I still want to try the new 2mg Teva's. Only time will tell! I hope the Teva's end up great.
I see a lot of people saying the old TEVA formula they brought back is not working. Have you ever thought that your body has to adjust to the TEVA brand again and that you have to let the Actavis brand get completely out of your system? I was on Actavis for 3 months and I know it builds up in the system so therefore it is going to take time to completely leave the body as you are also readjusting to the TEVA brand again. I have only been on it going on 2 days now. I have had this issue before when I was not on any Clonazepam at all and when I restarted it took a while to get the euphoric peaceful calm feelings back.
I had a lot of reserves of the REAL old formula before they brought out actavis and so I can tell you. What you’re feeling is NOT from your body needing to adjust. This new relaunch is horrible I have been in and out of the hospital with severe mental and physical issues as well as almost everyone I know that has taken it. My friends are referring to it as rat poison and one of my friends is actually bed ridden since taking it 2 mo ago and on!! This is toxic!!! Please something has to be done it’s going to be hard they don’t want to change it after this time but please call the teva 1800 number and press 5 tell them how horrible you are feeling and that they did something wrong this isn’t what we had for years. They know it I just feel like it’s all about $. Consistently call like we did before. Maybe they will care that people’s minds and lives are being ruined. Good luck all
I got the TEVA (not actavis) tabs from CVS after switching from dissolves, and TEVA no longer lists Actavis on their website with the exception of the 2mg but they got the TEVA 2mg listed as well, and I got to say, to the people who are saying they are not still not the same, you may have just gotten used to the medication. I switched mainly because the dissolves are a lot more expensive, and they provide no benefit over the regular tabs, because these can be dissolved too. Onto the effects, they are definitely a little different than what I am used to with the TEVA/Barr dissolves, probably because with tabs you swallow them whole which results in different administering of the medication.
So far, I like them, they seem to work really well compared to the other brands and formulas I've tried, you guys are saying they aren't the same, so maybe I can't tell but they seem to work like new/better for me after taking dissolves from three different manufacturers over the months/years. Maybe you are right about the formula not being the same still but also think about the other possibilities.
On another note, dissolves have a lot of artificial sweeteners and ingredients which I don't feel comfortable taking long term because they may cause issues, especially down the line and possibly negate the positive effects, so there's a lot of perks with taking regular TEVA tabs.
In comparison:
*Incredibly inexpensive
*Less unnecessary ingredients/fillers/more focus of the active ingredient inside the tab
*Durable/less prone to crushing and getting stale with changes to texture
*Portability/not in blisters
*Can be dissolved, just not sugary sweet (but who cares?)
So yeah, I'm pretty happy with the TEVA clonazepam tabs.
Scored means engraved logo/number, correct? If so, my TEVA 1mg green/833 tablets look indented. As far as effects, I think these are giving me negative side effects, like general nausea, abdominal pain, and esophageal/stomach issues the following day. I'm not quite sure but these tabs seem to be a bit hard on my stomach but it could be something else, I'm not 100% positive though, so take my word with a grain of salt. I'm kind of upset that TEVA is buying out so many pharma brands and then either ditching the good old formulas of various drugs from different brands, and/or replacing their good ones with the not so great formulas of said brands.
TEVA is monopolizing hard, and it's not only hurting their company but also their customers and making them go to lower-tier brands with "semi-decent" formulas that are not guaranteed to keep a supply because of competition, so customers are having less choices when a lot of mergers happen, and stopping the manufacturing of certain generics. I just hope they don't ditch the dissolves in case I need to switch again, that's the only one guaranteed to at least work positively for me despite being expensive. I just want to know why clonazepam especially, is so hard to get right?
I HOPE TEVA KEEP MAKING ACTAVIS
After Mylan discontinued their clonazepam,, I tried TEA and it did nothing for me. Then I tried Accord and woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible panic attack. Then I tried Actavis and it has been a God sent for me. This last time my pharmacy was out of Actavis Arabia and refilled the new TEVA... I am at loss here... if they don't make Actavis again my doctor will do the paperwork and authorization with my insurance so I can get the brand name.
Typo **TEVA not TEA**
Another typo****ACTAVIS NOT ARABIA***
TEVA CLONAZEPAM IS BACK !!! Thursday, September 26, 2019 !!! TEVA 833 GREEN !!! OLD FORMULA BUT NO LONGER SCORED !!!
Awesome! I still can’t get it and I have tried hard! Will you please post if it works the same?
Do they work the same as the old ones? Can you give me details please? Thanks!
I started this thread in the first place and ironically now my pharmacy will not fill Teva
I just got the 0.5 mg filled they are the exactly the same score mark and everything but they are made in Czech republic and not Jerusalem Israel the only difference I hope they work the same
@ryan try a different pharmacy they will fill it tell them to call the distributor good luck let me known if I can help I'm in Maryland if that helps thank you for starting this thread
0.5 mg have been released also it's the same Ndc number also which is weird it's the same score mark and all but the 1 mg are different but same ingredients but 0.5mg are now out from when I called customer service on friday the 6th 00093 0832 05 is the ndc for 0.5mg
That is not the same NDC for the 1 mg I was given. Regardless pharmacies still do not have them.
Because that's for the 0.5 mg
0.5 mg 00093 0832 05
You said it was the same NDC at the beginning of your comment. I thought you meant the same NDC as the 1 mg. That is why I replied.
Has anyone gotten any Tevas yet from the pharmacies? This is taking so long...
Someone said they got the 1mg but I don't believe it. I have tried calling everywhere in the DMV area. I'm in MD looking for 0.5mg myself. Tthey need to hurry up. Also the Teva USA webpage is messed up when you look at the clonazepam. Hope they fix it.
I personally called the distributor that my Pharmacy uses and since I am not the Pharmacy or a Pharmacist with an account with them they were limited in what they could tell me. They do have TEVA formula but she confirmed that it is true that before they can release it to the Pharmacies that there are protocols that have to take place. Once those protocols/processes are complete then they will make it available for the Pharmacy to order it. And that it can take a while for those protocols to be completed. She told me that my pharmacy can call them and they can give them more detailed information. This was last week when I called them.
ill know tomorrow if i get the 0.5mg i hope it is
I just spoke to someone on the 6th and they said that the 1 mg has been shipped out to ALL of the distributors/wholesalers. Said it may not be available for the pharmacy to order and dispense yet because there may be some processes that they have to go through before they can make it available. Said that even though it is an old drug that use to be on the market when they discontinued making it and reintroduced it back it is basically considered a new drug even though it's not. It is their previous formula but is looked at as a new drug because it had been off the market.
As of August 14 2019 Teva original 1mg formula has been released. The other doses will be released soon. This comes from Teva customer support.
I need 0.5mg any word on when that is going to be released
Just talked to customer service at1-800-545-8800 (option 3 then 5). The lady said only the 1 mg Teva's are being shipped to wholesale distributors who will then get it to the pharmacies within about one week. Your doctor needs to write script for 1mg for you to break in half. Let’s hope the formula really is the same.
All post updates on what pharmacies are carrying Teva. Best to all.
From what I heard they are the original green 833 pills. My pharmacy only gets Accord which I've been on since the beginning of the year so I won't get to try the new ones
I have never taken 1mg only 0.5 mg I hope they are green for 1mg and yellow for 0.5mg and yes I hope they are the same I will look at the ingredients best wishes everyone
everyone call tomorrow and ask for the NDC i was told it was 00093-3212-05 for the 1mg that is going to be released or has been what have you but i want to know if this is true also try emailing that way we have it in writing because im not seeing anything on FDA or anything on that NDC search or on the website i was told verbally but everyone calll tomorrow and see what NDC number they give you and this is for the 1mg which i really need the 0.5mg but post your NDC that you get and any info
Thanks everyone
1 mg is still not in any Pharmacy I have called.
The actual NDC is 0093-3212-05
Look it up that way and it does pull up.
I take the ODT form, and I remember when Walgreens bought out my Rite Aid, they switched me to Par's ODT, so I requested the TEVA back. One day I decided to try Par to see if there's any benefit over TEVA/Barr's formula, and it did give me a different feel, my mind felt more clouded/short term memory got messed up during its action, felt a little more depersonalized, and it just didn't feel as natural or smooth while in my system compared to TEVA's, I also thought I got nauseous on it every time. Barr's formula that TEVA purchased just feels more natural, like it's putting me back into a balance to where I can be a semi-functional human being and feel less threatened by panic attack triggers. Par's kicked in faster, and maybe helped a little better with general anxiety and stress but wasn't as good for just feeling well. Different generics are like taking completely different medications.
So now that we know this, every time someone says a medication didn't work for them, I would suggest them to ask for a different generic before completely switching medications, and look at the fillers.
According to Dailymed, for TEVA's ODT: "Each orally disintegrating tablet also contains the following inactive ingredients: aspartame powder, colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium stearyl fumarate, strawberry flavor and xylitol."
According to Dailymed, for Par's ODT: "Each orally disintegrating tablet contains aspartame, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, mannitol, silicon dioxide, sorbitol, sodium lauryl sulfate, and talc."
I noticed that regular clonazepam tablets are crazy cheaper when comparing prices, so when TEVA brings back the old formula I want to try them since I heard they easily dissolve under the tongue on their own despite not being in ODT form.
But yeah, sucks that they just cut people off like that. Obviously either people don't do well with certain fillers and/or the fillers are greater than the active ingredient, which means the dosages are probably BS. People aren't imagining it, especially when their brands are switched and they start getting withdrawal symptoms and rashes, or stop benefiting from their medication. It's easier for the people who don't have severe panic attacks and sensitivities to look at you like you're crazy, especially the pharmacists, doctors, and the people making the money.
I would also like to add that I believe Par's formula gave me uncomfortable dizzy/vertigo/panicky sensations some time later on or the next day, and didn't last as long during its action, had a weakened anti-panic effect, and/or didn't feel very secure on it.
I emailed Teva and complained. They emailed me back and said they are returning to market mid to late summer. I hope they're not just stringing us along.
F**k them. They ruined so many lives.
Any updates from TEVA regarding when their old formula clonazepam will be back on the market?
I called Teva and left a message about having to find another drug after being on the Green TEVA generic for years. I told them I have been having severe sleep disturbances (no sleep some night, racing thoughts, anxious and that I thought the blue generic was horrible- felt like I took a placebo. My ins won’t cover name brand. So will have to get a different drug and don’t know how that will work and know some suggested don’t.
How everyone calls!
Teva should be coming back at the end of the summer. I don't know what brand you have now but I take Accord. It's the only brand my Pharmacy can get it's a blue pill that says C1 on it. I was having withdrawal symptoms the first couple weeks then my body adjusted to it so I guess it feels okay for now but the Teva was the best.
Per call to TEVA cust service on 4/1/19 they are strongly considering bringing back OLD FORMULA TEVA CLONAZEPAM
We ALL need to CALL TEVA customer service at 888-838-2872 (option #3 then option #5) for customer service to tell them Actavis does not work and to bring the old TEVA formula back ASAP
Several patients have said it’s messing with their lives
Hopefully that would be possible. I'm on Accord and Solco now.
Does anyone have updates on when TEVA original will be back? We all need to keep emailing!
I started taking Klonopin in 1997, taking it occasionally for anxiety. When I developed serious problems with sleep my doctor prescribed Ambien. However, after a couple of years I started to sleepwalk in the middle of the night. I immediately called my doctor and he switched me to clonazepam for sleep. I was taking the Teva brand and also recently got an a refill of Actavis which didn't work as well. I needed to take two .50 mg. Today when I specified that I wanted the Teva brand the pharmacy said they only have Actavis. When I pressed she said she could order Teva in 1 mg. I will just cut the pill in half. I have to wait until Monday to pick-up the Teva. I hope it is Teva but if not I will just take a higher dose of the Actavis. It is not as good but what can we do? The company Actavis was bought-out by Teva and I guess they make more money mfg. the Actavis formula.
Teva bought out Actavis a while ago so you can never get the green Teva pills with 833 and printed on them anymore my new script is a Accord brand and it's horrible so I had my doctor up my dose
Been having the same problems. Teva worked great, actavis was awful, I had taken solco before and I was ok, so I switched back to that but it suddenly isn't working! Teva wafers gave me an allergic reaction.
Currently on mane brand which is crazy expensive... still doesn't work like teva.
Called a d complained telling them teva was only one that worked and I'm suffering and they were just like "were sorry maam we will tell our safety department about your issues"
I thought I was going crazy when they replaced my Klonopin brand Teva and replaced it with a company called solco. Even before reading this article I've had severe panic attacks that I haven't had in the past using Teva. I don't pay much attention to the hype surrounding generic medications, but whatever they're doing, under any name, is Criminal period! I'm having a really hard time. Now I have to contact my pharmacist and my Dr., because I really did think it was in my head! Whatever this company Solco is, they don't work. I am now a believer after taking Teva for years and Klonopin since 1983. The purity of the medication is insufficient and the main ingredient in this new wave of generics is much, much lower. Thanks
