Yes it's true. I went to my Pharmacy today and they said Teva is done - they bought out Actavis. My Pharmacy only has 230 pills left of theTeva brand. I have been on TeVa for 5 years now and I'm scared to go to another brand I have tried mylan which was the worst ever are there any other good brands out there that are like Teva or should I just try to get on the brand name but that is going to be very expensive should I just try getting on Xanax or what I am very scared right now thank you for your input

I called Teva a few months back and they sent me the list of ingredients for their Teva brand and the new activis brand clonazepam pills. The only difference is povidone (iron) is not in the activis brand and the coloring agent is pink instead of yellow in the activis brand. I've been taking only the activis brand for about a month and although they say they are the same active ingredients, I do have panic sneak up on me some days but it could be because I haven't increased my dose in years. I tried taking an extra 1/4 of a pill but it was too much for me. I have taken 1/8 extra and find that it works for me when dissolved under my tongue.
So you are telling me you have tried Teva and Actavis and they both seem to be about the same strength?
Yes. I'm saying that overall I feel OK on Activas brand. It took about a week but it feels about the same now.
Also I thought the 1mg Klonopin wear green right?
I am guessing she may be talking about a lower dose? Maybe then less side effect? But Teva green 1 mg 2X a day worked fine for me. That blue China made generic was like a placebo + bad side effects for me, worsening over time. I will stick with diazepam because a don’t know that I trust it won’t be same China made garbage with Teva written on it and green dye. (Not saying the latter as a fact. That is just my fear.)
The old teva brand was better. When you have been taking it for years you can tell the difference. Some people take it for effectively controlling seizures. Now it doesn't control them anymore. This is playing with peoples lives. Teva is using Actavis Brand now. Per call to Teva.
I got on the name brand, it's $35 a month with my ins. It makes me so mad when the pharmacists look at you like you're crazy because you tell them the generic doesn't work. Even my psychiatrist the other day when I asked about name brand Lexapro, "well, the generic is the same". Well, it's not working! Lol. When are they going to admit that maybe, just maybe to some of us who are sensitive to meds, they don't work the same!
Does the name brand give you headaches? I've been on it for almost 2 weeks now - not sleeping well and waking up with headaches.
The Teva brand didn't do this.
I had rapidly tapered down to 0.25mg and I know withdrawal caught up to me but I don't know if the headaches are from the medicine or withdrawal?
I called TEVA and they have reintroduced their klonopin. Call their customer service.
Yes, they have reintroduced it and said that they have shipped to distributors. That was at the end of August, however, distributors have protocols that they have to go through before they make the meds available for the Pharmacies to order from them.
To Byrjun, I'm sorry I just saw this. No the brand name doesn't give me headaches. But bad news is I have to pay 190.00 month for it. My insurance would let me have it for $35 if my Dr. would fill out some form but he says the form it only wanting statistical information against Klonopin and what it does to people. I'll ask my pharmacist every month to check on the Teva. But now I'm afraid that changing from brand name to Teva might give me some kind of withdrawals.
My Dr switched me from generic (clonazepam) to diazepam (Valium) made by Teva. So far so good. I had been going downhill with my full dose of the China made blue 1 mg which I took 2x a day. The blue clonazepam kept making me sicker and sicker: Headaches, high blood pressure, jittery, irritable, horrible insomnia. Was dismissed by medical hospital after Dr office said they couldn’t do anything for me- go to ER. Very bad experience in ER and shuffled out in bad condition. Had other physical problem as well. So I reached a snapping point (takes a lot to get there) and was helped at a psych hospital where they changed me to Diazepam and what a relief! But the generic clonazepam really messed up memory, sleep, bad. So it is taking time but finally got help. In fact, my Dr said 4-5 of his other pts were having the same severe complaints/side effects!
Glad I switched.
