I changed on advice as I was worried about my osteoporosis that is not improving, unbearable acid that will not go away , doctor advise to change again to famotidine this has no effect it is wearing me out pain when I swallow so I hardly eat. I was given the omeprazole in the first place to treat the hernia but then I hardly ever got heart burn, just don know what to do with myself.
Terrible acid and reflux since changing from omeprazole to esomeprazole?

I found that by going back to the original brand NEXIUM my acid reflux improved.

You need to see your doctor and be further investigated. If you stop proton pump inhibitors acid will increase significantly for some time. I wouldn’t take them as they cause some unpleasant side effects and health issues I am just careful what I eat and drink but I have never had acid just chest pain occasionally and breathing problems. The breathing issues, which I was told was the acid reflux, has turned out to be coronary heart disease. Go back and insist on further tests
