I’m new to this website so haven’t read much of the questions but just wondering if anyone? I have suffered with shortness of breath and feeling like you can’t fill your lungs due to a hiatal hernia. I’ve been having issues with my breathing for over 6 months now and haven’t been able to get to the cause of it after seeing many doctors, trying inhalers and having a chest X-ray. Stumbled across a thread on another website where someone had mentioned hiatal hernia in connection with trouble breathing.
Thanks in advance

Hi yes I was told it’s either the hiatus hernia or the acid reflux causing it because the oesophagus runs in line with the breathing tube so the brain gets a message there’s something wrong with your breathing rather than the oesophagus also sometimes the acid comes up and goes down into the lung. You need an endoscopy to see what’s going on. Good luck it’s a horrible feeling I know. Try breathing slowly through your nose then out slowly through your mouth a few times that usually helps me to get a Good breath
Hi thanks for replying, just realised I’ve made a typo in the above post. I haven’t been told I have a hiatus hernia but the doctor can’t seem to find anything else and was adamant it was my anxiety even though I could tell it was something else causing it. I’m going to suggest this next time I speak to him and hopefully get an endoscopy booked in. Thanks again.
