Side effects driving me from Pristiq. Dr. wants me to taper to 100 from 200mg, then wants to see me in a month. Is this possible? Last time I tried withdrawal was awful. Any advice?

Are you taking Pristiq or the generic desvenlafaxine? How did you try decreasing your dosage when you tried to discontinue the medication before?
Because these tablets are extended release they shouldn't be broken or split. Maybe your doctor could script some lower dosage tablets in different strengths to help you reduce your dosage more gradually?
