I’m wondering what the safest and least uncomfortable taper there is for mirtazapine? I’m hoping to do so very soon and could use some advice.

There is no proper way for everyone. It's trial and error. Some people (like me) have no withdrawal symptoms at all, some may take a week or two, some may take several weeks. You can try reducing your dose and take that for a few days then reduce again for a few days, etc. Or you can take it every other day, then every two days, then every three days etc.
If you start feeling symptoms go back up to a higher dose for a few days. If you're not having any problem keep reducing your dose until you're completely weaned.
