Withdrawal from Xanax after 6 months?

I have taken Xanax for the past 6 months for sleep. I would like to stop, at least for a while. Can I reduce dose to .25mg for a few days and then stop?

I would like to know if I take doxycycline at 7 pm is it safe to take melatonin at 9pm?

I'm taking doxycycline for 7 days but I take melatonin to help me sleep
