Question about Trazodone, uses, is it appropriate as a sleep aid for insomnia?

I have been prescribed trazodone as an aid to the insomnia. I have been experiencing. When I looked up the drug via your website, I see that it is an anti depressant Concerned that this may not be correct remedy as I dont have issues with depression

Hi, rugby! Yes, it is an antidepressant but it's commonly prescribed for insomnia in low doses because of a certain side effect: drowsiness. "Nervous system Very common (10% or more of users): Drowsiness (up to 41% of users)" I have found that it does help me with sleep without knocking me out and no morning hangovers.
