thats all bull. im on 3 8mg subutex a day from which i came down from 5 8mg daily. if you take 4 to 5 10mg hydrocodone 12 hours at least after your last dose of subutex you will feel it. trust im also on 4 2mg xanex daily i know what im talking about from experience.
Prophet, you felt it cuz of the Xanax!!! Clearly you DON'T know what you're talking about. Just because you experienced something does not make you an expert on it.
You would have to wait at least 12 hours. but me myself waited 24 hours just to be safe.
Usually people don't experience withdrawals if they take Hydrocodone while on Subutex. The problem is that it just won't work do to the fact that the Buprenorphine is still in your system. The manufacture states that the Buprenorphine can stay in patients for up to 11 days (In some cases but not all cases). So If you are in pain I would recommend taking it when you feel pain. It might not start working for a while but after the total of 11 days (Maximum) you will start to feel better. Hope this helps. I would also recommend talking with your doctor about it as she or he will know best. Good luck to you!
So it's the buprenorphine and not the naloxone?/ I thought you could take breakthrough meds with subutex but not suboxone? So if you are on either one they fill up the opioid receptor. Naloxone is only used if you were to inject> And are they both equal to about 30 mg methadone with the ceiling effect??
I know we get scared to ask the pharmacy questions when we are on opiate replacement, but, call them to make sure Friday is the soonest they will fill it. You probably won't have any withdrawal for a few days. In theory, I think you are supposed to be able to take opiates on subutex, but, from what I have read about people trying it here, they didn't feel anything including relief, even on subutex. It may be different for you. I hope the pharmacy will go ahead and fill this for you.
Snowgoer that's right. The Buprenorphine is called an Antagonist which blocks other opioids from working unless taken at very high doses. The naloxone just prevents people from injecting it and has no effect on the receptors unless injected. It's the Buprenorphine that blocks the receptors. I have personally been on Subutex and taken Oxycodone 10mg and it did nothing. No withdrawals and no pain relief. So as long as the Buprenorphine is in your system opiates/opioids won't work. Hope this helps!
Hi
Same here I was and am on 2mg of suboxone I had kidney stones and after three days took oxycodone and had some effect but i took about 50mgs ir because of my tolerance and I tell ya im on a low dose and the buphrenorphine binds tight to those receptors, and like was said depends on your dose and how long you where on it and it was weird becasue i really couldnt feel the buphrenorphine leave the receptors but when i took the oxycondone i could feel them literally leave within 5 hours after taking. Buphrenorphine is one of the strongest agonist-antogonist substance. In Europe they prescribe doses in micrograms usually 200 micrograms to start off with and that in the narcotic conversion chart is roughly equal to about 5-10mg of oxycodone and I have look at several conversion charts and couldnt believe what I was seeing and if you think about it if you take 8mg of suboxone a day what that equal to is about 100 of oxycodone.
Now it doesnt feel like it but on the receptor sites and because it binds tighly and stays their longer you are actually taking alot of a potent medictation. I see doctors prescribing 24mg a day for people who were taking one or two 80mg oxycontins and I say my God do they realize they are actually upping the addiction in the brain. Drs I think prescribe that much because of the ceiling effect and also I think people who never took it or dont read much about it are expecting the same type of high and like me and every addict I know more is better. Let us know, this is no judgement just one to another trying to help and thats real.
Thank you everybody for your help. I was able to go to the doctor and renew my script.
I was really worried about withdrawal but onlly went one day without my meds.
Again, thank you all...
Ok heres my advice to you!First off obviously you are not taking the meds are they are prescribed, and well as an addict i know how it goes no judgement here but if you really want not to have to worry about going into w/d's then try your hardest just to stay on your prescribed dosage.I have been on every Narcotic pain med out there, and now they have me on so many a day[9 roxi-30's a day plus9-15mg roxi a day,but see i too have done the same as you as we all have and the withdrawls are nothing to fool with,if you can just ""TRY"" and put your mind to sticking to your dosage then you wont have to worry about those nasty w/d's.Have you thought about weening yourself off the pills???
I also take subutex and yes it is a opiat blocker a well as the orange ones. I like the white ones alot better too
It will likely be at minimum 3 days and more like 5 days for the subutex to come off the receptor sites enough for any hydrocodone to work. It does depend somewhat on how high a dose you are on and for how long you have been taking it. Bupenorphine is a long acting medication and that is the drug in subutex. Subutex doesn't have the blocker medication suboxone has in it, but, it kinda takes over the receptor sites and won't recede for a few days. If you are only a couple of days off from your prescription refill, you may be able to fill it a couple of days early.
I can't refill until Friday. I am afraid of withdrawal. I also have 5 mg oxycodone. Will that help to take right away?
Thanks for your response..
no it will not help right away. it will prob make u sicker if u take to soon
Thank you...
