My wife has been on spironolactone 25mg as a side medication to her main blood pressure medication for a month and half now. Since her pressure was regulated and even getting lower, the physician decided to take her of spironolactone.
This is her second day off the medication and she is also experiencing lots of headaches that she was not. Will monitor the situation in a few days
You don't have side effects from a drug after you stop taking it. You can develop the same problems you had that caused you to be put on the drug.
Did your doc take you off of it?
Yes, my dr took me off the drug due to other side effects. I was originally put on it due to hair loss, but I was extremely tired and had headaches more often than normal. After being on the drug for a month, that is when all the symptoms started, including constipation. I asked to be taken off the drug as I hated the way I felt - guess it is a toss up, either curtail the hair loss and feel crummy or vice versa.
I think I'd get a nice wig and ditch the side effects. I don't need a pill making me sick. lol
