I have had extreme anxiety that left me in a non-functioning state I have tried several pills and nothing helped until Lexapro! I have been on 10 mg of Lexapro since February 10th. I started taking it around 10am, this last week I started taking it at night. I feel awesome but I also feel like I could sleep 24 hrs a day! I've read where some people were over the fatigue in 4 weeks, has anyone had it longer? Should I cut it down to 5mg? Will this extreme fatigue ever war off? I am on Klonopin, but I have cut the dosage way down. Could someone please help. Also, please no negative feedback, I don't need that in my head.
So sleepy with Lexapro, help!?

Did you feel ok when you took during the day? I'm curious why you changed the time. Lexapro is generally taken in the AM. Talk to your dr about it, before you cut the dose in half. If its really helping you, it needs to be figured out so you're not so tired.
I was so sleepy I could barely function. I would drive to my dads, (15 minutes away), and have to take a nap.
I too just started taking 10mg lexapro 6 days ago, I take it at night as it makes me very tired, I am still very anxious does that go away after a few weeks?
I take it at night and I'm also drowsy
I Also take at night and I am sleepy until noon.
I had to stop taking lexapro. I started shaking like I had Parkinson's. It did help with nerve pain so I was disappointed when the side effects became worse than the nerve pain.
I have been taking Lexapro and Wellburtin for several years. I have gotten used to always being sleepy. It really helps with my anxiety and bouts of saddness. I take 20mg twice a day and always take it in the morning. I try to get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep every night but I could easily sleep 12 hrs if I were to wake up on my own.
It seems like they would want you to take the lexapro at night when your suppose to get sleep but I guess everyone is different. I've saw stories were people took it during the day and then switched to night. All I can say is that everyone is different and what may work for one person may not work for another. They should always consult with there physician if they are still having issues with the medication. I myself couldn't take it because it made me so tired all the time and that's not me. If it made me tired at night it would have been different, but it didnt seem so strong to me. I would be exhausted during the day because I was unable to sleep at night. I've always had a problem with sleeping and anxiety really bad and I hope that they can give me something that works without any bad side effects.
I went off Lexapro yesterday, after 5 weeks. I felt like a zombie all day, and fell asleep often during the day. I could not work at home, & I felt stupid. This drug is not for me. I will be starting Zoloft soon.
I had to stop taking Lexapro due to somnolence the whole day. I was like a zombie.
However it helped my wife a lot with sleeping.
