I only just started taking caplyta... but last night I could sleep well, I felt paralyzed I couldn't do anything but whimper and barely move my hand. I felt extreme panic and fear I was afraid as if someone was watching me. I have bipolar depression and I couldn't talk or move for what felt like an hour. I couldn't calm down until my s/o woke up and laid his arm on me for comfort.
I've never experienced anything like that to that extreme. Is this normal with caplyta?

That happened to me many years ago, it was a nightmare( I completely understand what you felt, it is horrible), I ended up in the ER in the ICU, believe it was with an anticonvulsant.

Hi, Kettu! You used the right word... extreme. Some of what you've described has been reported with Caplyta but it's so new on the market it's too early to have a comprehensive list of side effects. Anyway, what you've experienced is not normal at all and your doctor should be alerted. Be sure to let them know about any other medications including herbals and OTC's you're taking especially if not prescribed by this doctor. Being as it's the weekend you might not be able to reach them but there is usually a referral to the covering doctor or a local care facility. You might be wise to try to get some professional advice before taking another dose. Best regards and I hope you don't have this problem ever again.
