Today it is 7 weeks since I have been taking Sertraline. 5 weeks on 50 mg, two weeks on 100 mg. at 100 mg the doctor prescribed me propranolol 40 mg 3 times a day, I take only twice, I do not need to take 3 times a day. propranolol helps me with side effects, I have increased anxiety. yesterday evening sadness hit me and I cried a little. This morning I woke up with a bit of anxiety, these days it was so good on the increased dose and now I do not want anything again. I am sweating a lot, I have hot attacks, especially in the morning when I take the medicine. I'm also before my period, maybe that's why I feel a bit worse? I want to cry a little. are these the side effects of increasing the dose? Please, support me

That all sounds very frustrating. Hopefully by this time you have been able to share all of this with your doctor. If you haven't had your hormone levels tested recently it may be a good idea to ask the doctor to do that. It can take a few weeks longer for the increased dose of sertraline to settle in your system and be effective. In the meantime be extra kind to yourself, the transition periods with medication are so difficult. Best wishes to you.
I had a blood test done when I started taking sertraline. The doctor told me that my thyroid was fine. Should I ask my doctor for more detailed blood tests?
I am on week three of sertraline. One week at 25mg and two weeks at 50mg. I search this thread a couple of times every day looking for encouragement to get through this.
From what I have read it is not uncommon to experience side effects after a dose change. Everyone says that it takes time to work and sometimes things get harder before they get better.
I definitely had increased symptoms when I went from 25mg to 50mg, in fact days 12,13 and 14 I experienced terrible anxiety and had a panic attack. Thankfully the anxiety has lessened now.
Do you normally struggle with more anxiety during your period? I always did. It’s easy to overthink everything when we are struggling with anxiety, I am on hyper alert with everything in my body! But I try to stay positive and remind myself that in a few weeks I will hopefully feel much better.
Definitely speak to your doctor about your symptoms. I’m sure they will pass and you will start to feel better soon ❤️
Hello. I've always had mood swings before my period, sweating more, crying one moment, then laughing. I just feel like you, literally the same days 13.14 days and I feel more anxiety, I help myself with propranol. I talk to a psychologist once a week, conversations with him help me. How long did you keep the side effects after increasing the dose? I wish you a lot of health and smile every day
Well it definitely sounds as though your period is making things harder. I hear a lot of women say the same.
I’m still having symptoms, last night I took my medication on an empty stomach ( I have little appetite) and woke with chronic heartburn. I read that it is becoming I took the medication on an empty stomach with no water so won’t do that again. I also have insomnia, nausea and a funny tummy. Thankfully the anxiety is usually only bad when I first wake and gets better throughout the day. So that is a good sign!
We will get through this and come out stronger. I’m cheering you on
And this is much better than 7 weeks ago. I have more energy, but there are also days like now, when I feel worse, without strength, but we have to stop it to be stronger
