I am a 20 year old female. I got the Nexplanon implant placed in my arm in April of 2015 (I've had it for 1 year and 4 months). At the time I got the implant inserted, I weighed 158 pounds. As of this week, I weigh 190 pounds, for a total of 32 pounds of weight gain in almost a year and a half. I've tried dieting, eating clean and exercising as much as I could, but it was impossible to lose even one pound. It has been really bothering me and making me really upset. Has anyone had significant weight gain with Nexplanon, and were you able to lose the weight after getting it removed? Any stories/experiences would be great to hear!! Thanks so much!

Also, I my eating habits haven't changed since before I got the implant. I also have hypothyroidism, so weight has always been an issue for me but I have never weighed this much in my life before.

I’ve also gained weight roughly 30lbs and it looks like I keep going up. I eat about the same as I did before the Nexplanon implant and exercise 4-5 times a week. At one point I was exercising 2 times a day with calorie restrictions, about 1200 calories and I noticed no weight gain. If I had a cheat meal I would gain 5lbs and never go back down. The only thing that seemed to work for me to get the scale moving was to restrict food down to 600 calories a day with 1 hour workouts everyday. Even then the weight loss was slow and obviously not sustainable or healthy.
I opted to have it removed and will be going in for removal this Saturday. I plan to eat roughly 1200 calories and workout 2x a day by doing cardio in the mornings and strength training in the evenings. I’m hoping to see the scale move again.
