I don’t take contrave but was looking into it for weight loss. I already take Wellbutrin which is in contrave. When I took the twice a day dosage of Wellbutrin, if I took the second does too late, I couldn’t sleep well at all. Does the contrave bother you in this way?
I like to no has anybody had trouble falling asleep I take mine at 8 PM and I can't sleep
YES I can't sleep either, I am on week one and I try to take it right away when I wake up. My wife is on week 2 and she takes her 2nd one right before she goes to bed. Been working so far, but our cat pushed a picture off the wall last night and she woke up. Couldn't go back to bed for hours.
Don't get me wrong, I really like them so far. I am trying to slow down on the drinking as well and this could not have come at a better time. I am a daily drinker and this has really curbed my drinking habits and my eating habits. Not nearly has hungry.
But no pill is going to work unless you count those calories!!!
There is no benefit, but can be some harm (in the way of side effects) from taking the second dose too early. This is not designed to "take away hunger" at the time of taking. It does not work like Phentermine. It works on your brain pleasure centers and is designed as a time release pill so that you have a constant stream of medication in your system at all times.
Ideally, you should stick to taking it as close to 12 hours apart as is practical.
Also, remember, you are on week three, so you have yet to even take a full dose of the medication. But even when you do, Contrave is not a thermogenic compound, you will lose any weight with Contrave following a diet plan that you would not lose weight will without the medication.
Now is the time to review your diet and calorie plans to see what you may wish to modify.
Ensure you are getting protein at every meal. plans mid afternoon (and if necessary mid-morning) snacks to help get you from meal to meal without getting ravenous.
Use an app like My Fitness Pal, to calculate and then track the number of calories you should be and are eating in a day. Not eating enough calories is just as bad as eating too many when it comes to diets.
The best diet is one where you don't feel like you are on a diet. Contrave will help you say "no" to those things that we crave that often sabotage a diet, but it is not going to make a bad diet plan into a good one.
Stay positive, plan out your food, and you should be going good in no time at all.
When I was on week 3 I spaced out my medication at 8 am, 2 pm and then the one at night. It was mainly because I was so sleepy. This might help you.
Hopin32, Instead of taken the two first thing in the morning, you take one at 8 and the other at 2? I didn't realize you could do that. Is there a reason why it is prescribed to take two in the morning and then in evening. I'm on week three so I take 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon around 4:00. Is there a reason you do not take the two morning together?
Actually, now I do take the 2 together in the morning. But, when I was on week 3 the medication made me so tired I couldn't take them together. So, I spread them out so I wasn't as tired.
I am lucky that i did not have the sleepiness side effect. Thanks
I'm almost finished with my first Rx when do we start taking 3 a day? I don't think my bottle says to do that! I threw it out after I loaded up my pill box with the remainder! Should I have started taking 3 already? And do you space them out in the morning or take them at the same time?
The medication is 1 in the morning for the 1st week. 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening the 2nd week. 2 in the morning and 1 in the evening the 3rd week. 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening the 4th week. You stay at this last (2 in am and 2 in pm) as long as you are on the medication or unless you physicians tells you something different.
That's not what my script states! I'm on two a day only so I'm curious as to why my Dr doesn't know the dosing requirements, that's scary!
Actually, I remember now! The first time I tried it like many others I didn't think it was working so I stopped taking them! I remember it being those instructions and I was having a hard time remembering to take my 2 o'clock pill! But weird that this is different instructions! I have a call out to them so maybe it'll clear itself up!
You should definitely follow your doctor's orders.
Got a new script and am doing the three a day every six hours and at this time that seems to be working so I'm spurious as to what the two in the morning do as compared to spacing them out? I feel like eating nothing for about half of the day but know I need to eat so I do eat but I can't imagine this not working for some people!
