I started Saxenda April 2021andmy periods stopped.
I stopped Saxenda Dec 2021..still no periods, but I starting getting hair loss, breakage abs thinning (used to have long thick hair even my usual hairdresser made comment about the hair loss and thinning) I started having the sweats, hot flushes, and mood swings, so I went and got tested for menopause, (I’m only 49) and first Dr days I’m peri-menopause, and I left feeling confused so went back to another Dr 3 days later who ready my pathology telling me I was actually Post-menopausal…he states I could have been dealing with menopause for the last 2-3 years (I’ve had many blood tests over that time and not one single Dr picked up any anomaly…so now I’m 5 months post Saxenda, hair is still thinning, breakage abs is now short and dry dead looking and I have No Periods, dry mouth, heart palpitations that fluctuates to low blood pressure, trouble swallowing, shortness of breath, anxiety, hoarseness, diarrhoea, lymph node infections, recently turned up blood work suggests kidney enzyme increased (never had an kidney issues) aversion to air conditioning, cold air, and constant feeling generally unwell ..I think I’ll discuss MCT with Dr next week as these issues I’ve never had in my life (abs I’m asthmatic) and I know something isn’t right but people jabbing me off telling me it’s anxiety. I suffer PTSD/Anxiety/ etc abs I’ve never felt anything this severe in my 20 years since diagnosis. I know something isn’t right but it’s getting someone to believe me is the issue! Any thoughts?
I used saxenda for a only 3 weeks and my period delayed for 10 days .. so i stopped and this month am still waiting for it as its delayed for about one week so far , i hope my period come back to normal ( it was always on time never late for even one day ) so saxenda is not good for women who think about having babies at all .
I used this for a month and my first Period was delayed by 12 days so I stopped. I then had my second period delayed by 24 days and it’s was very painful. Saxenda is just not worth it, I have noticed hair loss since too. I hope this month is normal
Same happened with me and i am trying for a baby for long time i am so scared now , so please can you tell me what happened in your third period please ?
I started Saxenda and have a missed period and negative pregnancy tests as well. Anyone else have this issue and did their period ever come? Debating on getting off.
Started Saxenda March 26th. My period was due April 2nd and I’m now on day 9 without my period lol and 4 negative pregnancy tests. Sooo I’d say there’s a correlation lol
I stopped using it around April 9th
I started Saxenda and have a missed period and negative pregnancy tests as well. Did your period come? I also pulled my lower back which is another side effect. Feels like early menopause lol... Did you ever get your period? Debating on getting off.
I have been on Saxenda for the last month and a half . I have not had a period (told I was in menopause) for the last two years and now I have been spotting every day since starting saxenda . I was told it was not a side effect by the md that prescribed it but I’m not to sure .I will be seeing my ob/gyn next week .
Oddly my periods started again after 8 days of using Saxenda, when they had previously been absent for 6 months. I'm 52
I have been on Saxenda for 5 weeks. I am usually like clock work... 28 day cycle with 6-7 day period. My first period on Saxenda was 4 days early and mostly spotting for the first 4 days and then light for 6 more days. Now it’s time for the next period and nothing... no spotting... nothing!
Hello. I have been on Saxenda since FEB 2018. I have lost 50 lbs, along with treadmill 30 minutes a day, 4 times per week. My period has stopped all completely. I was off Saxenda for 2 weeks, MAR 2020, and my period came back immediately. I am now back on Saxenda, APR 2020.
I started taking Saxenda and thought I had found a miracle, when in week three I lost 15 pounds and had zero hunger. Then the issues started by week four I was feeling super nauseous and my period decided two come two weeks early with very light spotting and not my regular cycle at all. Here I am two weeks later and still spotting and no real period. I’ve always been very regular until I started the shots. It gets better I started getting severe cramping, thinking it was my period finally about to come, but the pain was so severe I was rushed to the ER and was told I had a lot of inflammation to my gallbladder and pancreas. I was admitted and waited two days NPO for the inflammation to subside before they removed my gallbladder. My blood work was horrible with inflammation markers, two weeks later my blood work is normal and still spotting since. I would NOT recommend this shot to anyone.
When I first started on Saxenda my period started to last longer than normal (two weeks) and then come again in another two weeks. Then it turned to three weeks on one week off. Now I have bleeding daily. I have an apt soon to see what the heck is up.
Yikes! Would be interested to hear what they say. My endocrinologist just said it wasn’t a side effect and to see how next month goes (Day 8 and still spotting, but seems to be getting lighter, fingers crossed!), I figure if after a full month it’s still messed up I’ll check in with my OB/GYN. Good luck!
Just started Saxenda and my period started the next day, much heavier than usual, cramping all day long. I’m on Junel fe and usually only spot a few days a month like clockwork. I feel great otherwise though - did anyone else experience this? Did it stop?
Update: next two periods have been completely normal. No other side effects so far.
Been on Saxenda for 11 weeks with no weight loss. My period was late for 12 days. I decided to stop using Saxenda as it wasn't working for me and 3 days later I got my period!
I started Saxenda on 12/24/2019 and have the Nexplanon birth control arm implant. I got nexplanon in back in June and my periods stopped. Now I've had a period for over a week and it's getting heavier
Yes. My cycle is normally around 24-26 days and goes for about 7 days. Since I started Saxenda in October, my cycle in November was 6 days late and lasted 4 days, and I have yet to start this month and it's been 45 days. It's a little annoying because I'll get PMS like I'm going to start and then don't. But I'm having good results and have lost 15 pounds since starting Saxenda, so I'm going to stay on it until I hit my goal weight.
For reference, I'm 44, hypothyroid and had no success with weightloss previous to this.
