I started taking Saxenda two weeks ago. I've lost 6 lbs so far. I feel I can handle the few side effects but I haven't stopped my cycle. I've been on it for 2 weeks.
Has this happened to anyone else?
My cycle is like clockwork usually - every 28 days and lasts 6 days. Since I’ve been on Saxenda, my cycle has shortened and now my period is disappearing. This last period came on a 26 day cycle and lasted 2 days. I went to the gynecologist and I’m fine, but still, annoyed that this is messing with my cycle. Also, am not on the pill in case that’s relevant to your question.
Hi, I was interested to know how this ended up for you?
I have recently started taking saxenda and my period came, it’s only light but has now lasted for 15 days and doesn’t look like it’s going to stop.
I have an appt with the gyno on Friday but I am wondering too if there is a correlation between hormones/periods and saxenda?
Same here! Any update?
I ended up stopping taking Saxenda. the period lasted 40 days with some extremely heavy days.
I did multiple testing and then ended up having a d&c.
This was last year in April. Since then my periods have gone back to normal.
Not sure if it was a coincidence but I had never had any problems like that prior to saxenda and since stopping haven’t had any problems since. So for me I’m not prepared to take it again just incase.
I'm so glad I found this question. The doctors office said it was not a side effect but yes. My period has been off since I started. It's been late and last month it went over 5 days.

I just started Saxenda this month & my menstrual cycle is 4 days late. I'm usually like clockwork so this is a first. I was wondering if there was a correlation between the two, I hadn't had time yet to research this.
I started taking Saxenda and thought I had found a miracle, when in week three I lost 15 pounds and had zero hunger. Then the issues started by week four I was feeling super nauseous and my period decided two come two weeks early with very light spotting and not my regular cycle at all. Here I am two weeks later and still spotting and no real period. I’ve always been very regular until I started the shots. It gets better I started getting severe cramping, thinking it was my period finally about to come, but the pain was so severe I was rushed to the ER and was told I had a lot of inflammation to my gallbladder and pancreas. I was admitted and waited two days NPO for the inflammation to subside before they removed my gallbladder. My blood work was horrible with inflammation markers, two weeks later my blood work is normal and still spotting since. I would NOT recommend this shot to anyone
