Try a pain relief cream while waiting for the hydro. and soma to
kick in and lie still for awhile. It may be that your cumulative dose
is not high enough. Start taking a 10 mg hydrocodone at prescribed
intervals throughout the day. Non-weight bearing hydro-therapy may
also be beneficial. Good luck and God bless you.
I've been on 7.5 Vicodin for years. It works very well with ibuprophen, especially in the prescription strength. I get 800mg. I have been prescribed all 3 of those to take together, for me it was safe and effective, although, I didn't think soma was very strong. I'm know naproxen is safe like ibuprophen, so I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem, but like that other person said, check it all on the drug interaction guide. Now, that being said, when I've had very acute pain (i.e., I broke 6 ribs and fractured my pelvis once) (another time with wisdom teeth removed) my doc told me to take more than was prescribed on the label. In the 1st instance, two 7.5's every 2-3 hours. And I did! Had to, or I couldn't breathe. And another thing about pain, and any nurse, doctor or pain specialist will tell you this, part of managing pain is how you dose yourself. DO NOT let your meds wear off before you take your next dose.
It takes more meds to get on top of the pain every time you do that. It takes your meds about 45 minutes if not more to start acting. So if the dosing schedule says every 6 hours, and you CAN go 6 hours, take your meds at 5 hours, so that by the time the last dose is wearing off, the new dose is coming on. If you find your pain is coming on closer to the 4 hour mark, take it at 3 or 3.5 hours. If you keep that up, esp. while pain is at it's worst, you will do much better and recover better & faster too. Gradually increase time between doses as you feel a little better. As that works, then you can start reducing dose as well as time between, little by little as you can tolerate it.
Hope this helps.
I want to ask a question ? I'm to take one pill of 500mg of naproxen two time a day! I would like to know can I take one and a half of this pill a day? To help my pain?
did your doctor perscrib all 3 of them?If he did and your still not sure then try the pill interaction at the bottom of this page.
You could safely take Naproxen & Hydrocodone together, but its always recommended not to change or self medicate before seeking the advice of a medical practitioner.
Take care, best wishes!
