Is it safe to take a low dose aspirin about an hour after taking antacid?

Taking Tums together with aspirin may decrease the effects of aspirin especially if you take Tums often. Occasional Tums use is probably fine. You can minimize the effects of Tums on aspirin by dosing as far apart as practical - the longer the better.
In either case you talk to your doctor.
