Is it safe to take 500mg amoxicilin 4 times a day for 10 days?

It doesn't happen often, however it is safe. Doses up to 4 grams per day (2x your dose) can be prescribed with a limit of 1 gram per single dose. However this is still a high dose (usual dose for moderate-severe infections is around 875 mg 2x Daily, so check with your pharmacist if you should take a probiotic to prevent any stomach pain and any other severe side effects.
