Just want the answer
I have been prescribed amoxicillin 500, amoxicillin clav 500 amoxicillin is apart of penicillin family. Keflix or generic version. (cephalexin 500mg) which is not apart of the penicillin family. Keflix is for sure A stronger antibiotic. I know this only Bc after taking amoxicillin 500 for 1 week as prescribed my strep throat came back 2-3 days after completing amoxicillin. Went back to doc and gave me generic keflex.
It does mostly depend on which kind of infection your fighting off and allergic reactions are important to avoid. Hope this answers your question.
Keflex is the strongest
Amoxicillin is not the strongest or the weakest
Penicillin is the weakest
They are all strong effective antibiotics when used for the bacterial infections they are known to treat (ineffective when used where contra-indicated). Rather than re-invent the wheel further (copy KM an Dzoobaby), I'll try a different approach (see below).
What (appearance and/or symptoms) of bacterial infection do you have and where is the infection you want to treat?
Cheers.
It depends on the organism you are fighting. Some bacteria are more sensitive to certain drugs than others.
There is no way to make a statement on strength, because what makes it the strongest is what infection you have. Some antibiotics work for some kinds of infection and others for other kinds. The important thing is what do you need.
