They are both antiinflammatories and you don't take them together. Take the prednisone with food or milk. Try some maalox or one of those to soothe your stomach.

I was just on prednisone for a week and I have a history of ulcers. I had to take it. I had no problems with my stomach. I took it the way its recommended. If you read the paper that comes with your prescriptions you would have known how to take it and what not to take with it.

Hello I know the pain. The best thing is to get tums and chew on them then swallow you can take the extra strength tablets you should take about 4-5 tablets. Then get omeprazole over the counter it's 20 mg they have omeprazole 40 mg by prescription it will stop the acid. Tums will work right away the omeprazole will kick in over an hour or so and drink a lot of water to help the tums neutralize the acid. Talk to your pharmacist or a 24 hour pharmacy if you take any other medication to make sure there won't be any issues taking the omeprazole I know with the tums will be ok take the tums as soon as possible so you feel better

I had same problem. I took Ginger pills, also antacid with magnesium. It really helped a lot for me. I am not keen on methylprednisolone , but when I need it, I do take it, horrible side effects, nausea, bloating, dizziness, insomnia, roll on Friday, I take my last am pill. I do go for acupuncture which helps with nausea, also get massage twice a week. Hang in Lizzy, try stay off Ibuprofen, know it's hard when we're in pain. Moist heat helps too, ice packs and get Ginger tea , a must for arthritis or muscle skeletal problems. Best of luck : ) .

I avoid prednisone, the best and WORST drug out there...
Look into taking DGL for stomach lining protection. I use this for stomach protection as I take 4 ibuprofen in a 24 hr period... in between ibuprofen, I use Pain RX herbal pain supplement... check it out. I'd LOVE to be out of pain, but it ain't gonna happen and so I MANAGE as best I can.
AVOID drinking fluoride treated water, it's really poison to our bodies. Using "F" toothpastes too.
