I've been prescribed Lyrics and PMS fluoxetine to treat my GAD, lyrica 75 mg twice a day, and it's making me really really tired. Yesterday I had fast heart rate, my doctor told me to keep taking them and if this happened again I should take have the amount she gave me, meaning one pill daily.
It's kinda scaring me, because I don't have energy in my body at all, and I'm feeling slightly anxious as well.

Like others on this thread, I too was prescribed Lyrica and took it despite terrible side effects. I was too tired to live life and my nerve pain wasn’t much improved.
Beware of doctors and bad drugs. Odds are they get their information from the companies pushing the drugs who don’t allow bad reactions to get through clinical trials. And remember that your doctor gets paid if you get better or not and they can bill for more if you continue to have problems.
Hi Hndab. I was prescribed Lyrica for chronic nerve pain. There were so many side effects and they were horrible. I experienced anxiety and depression. There were many days I couldn’t leave my home. I have gone through a lot in my life but I’ve never experienced anything like that before. I was so tired every day and some days I couldn’t even get out of bed. I lost all motivation to do anything. I gained a lot of weight while taking Lyrica and I was so miserable the whole time I was on it. I ended up taking Lyrica for 6-7 years not connecting all my problems on the medication. It never did help me with the pain so when I found out that it was Lyrica that was causing all the side effects I decided to quit taking it. I found a lot of information about Lyrica in the ‘Lyrica Survivors’ support group. I also found out that many people have to taper off slowly and I realized quite fast that I was one of them.
It took me about 2 years to finally taper completely off Lyrica. If I went too fast the withdrawal symptoms were terrible. I tried Cymbalta also and I had the same problems as with Lyrica but worse. I’m tapering slowly off Cymbalta now with the help of another support group and I hope to be done tapering by the end of this year. I gained a lot of weight on Cymbalta too and at the end I had gained over 80 pounds. I’m down to less than 1 mg of Cymbalta now and I’ve already started to lose the weight. I’m getting out and I feel like I have a life again. I have energy again and my motivation is back. I don’t know what it is about these types of medications but I do know that I will never take another one. I hope you find something to help you that you won’t have side effects from. There are lists of natural remedies that you should check out on Google. There is a lot of good information out there that might help you. Take care of yourself and I wish you the best. Cindy
Side effects when first starting Lyrica can include apathy, fatigue, drowsiness, and hypo/hypertension but tachycardia wasn't listed under cardiovascular effects. These side effects generally resolve with in a few days to a week or so but a temporary reduction in your dosage might help your metabolism adjust to the drug more smoothly.
Did you just start the fluoxetine? Side effects of this medication may include sleepiness, increased anxiety, nervousness, apathy, and tachycardia ~ also temporary.
Taking these two medications together can also induce fatigue and drowsiness.
Hope this addresses some of your concerns and I hope you're feeling better quickly.
