Povidone Iodine Solution - can I use it if has been expired for a few years for antiseptic purposes?

Povidone Iodine is one thing you definitely don't use after its expiration date, because the solution is relatively unstable, chemically speaking.
It is not recommended to use expired medication as it looses its effectiveness.
