Iodine isn't a particularly hazardous material. Just absorb it with an inert dry material (such as saw dust, etc.) and place in appropriate waste disposal container. Because Iodine is a natural element in the earth, it may be disposed of in the regular trash, however, it should not be disposed of in the sewer because it can harm fish in large amounts.
That's a good question. I would call your local pharmacy and ask them. I personally have no idea of how to dispose of such a product. Your pharmacist will be able to help you. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!
